Ill second that, was nice to meet the 1987s, despite their dyno woes, hope you got it sorted in the end and managed to avoid the hot tub!! Chris mad a hasty retreat as soon as I got there, I do find that the black and white blades get intimidated when a Repsol turns up was nice to dribble on your shiny exhaust tho!
Nice to meet you both, it was all finished finally at 6pm. I apologise for not chatting a bit more, was still trying to get it all set up until the first of 36 runs at 4pm. Pretty much the same output as it was stock but a shed load more torque and power in the midrange area. Interestingly between baffle in and out on the yoshi there is 0.5bhp difference. It's much more rideable now though for sure. Had lots of fun on the way home. Got the graphs to upload and a video too, forgot to cover the plate for the one I took with the dyno doors open. And we did manage to dodge the hot tub, so very tired you see . I'll reveal the numbers when I get home. Very happy though
look forward to seeing those graphs! Obviously not a fair day to judge race engineering with his software issues so what did you thing to them. Gotta ask as I booked in whilst I was there. glad you got your runs in the end, didnt look hopefull whe i left
They are great, Simon and Andy are great and very helpful, over 20 years experience between them. Obviously all dyno read differently but it certainly pulls like a train compared to how it did previously.
Sorry I left as you arrived thezipsteruk I was quite literally sweating my tits of! And the wife was going out so I had to look after littlun! I'm sure we can meet up another time we're pretty local to each other. When have you got your Dyno booked for? Glad you got it sorted in the end Pete, so was it a software problem? not anything to do with the PCV or fuel module for the quickshiter? The difference in HP baffle in & out was pretty much the same but was the fuelling that much different to get the same results do you know? sorry for all the questions it's just interesting! Ozz
No problem mate I know the feeling, its far too warm to stay stationery! in fact I left to jump in the paddle pool with my little lad too lol Not got the Dyno booked as yet...too tight on cash at present but have booked in for me 8000 mile service with them a bit later. being a mac user I did have a silent snigger everytime he restarted his windows XP system! now tell me why dynojet dont do a mac system Glad Pete came away happy in the end, looked like a frustrating exercise for all parties.
Interestingly there were minimal changes, apparently the stock yoshi with filter and o2 eliminator maps are quite good, but some trimming is required.mainly in the mid range where it's a bit lumpy, unfortunately because of my set up with the pcv and SFM my custom map can't be put on another bike unless it has the SFM module die to tje mapping for 8000rpm being dealt with on the sfm. What I did find interesting was that the bike stock after showing Simon my original graph from the stock bike showed it was running incredibly lean. Which is why the dyno print out shows such an impressive base figure. (that and it was also a different type of dyno) But now it's all spot on its so much better!
Incidently it was the PC causing the problems, all fine after we got it running again. Navy I will recommend Race Engineering 20 years in the tuning trade and I can honestly say my bike has never felt better!
Right here we are, here are the results. Base Map: 152.81bhp & 73.71lbft Baffle In Custom Map: 156.79bhp & 75.75lbft Baffle Out Custom Map: 157.71bhp & 76.03lbft Rideability lower down though is much better. Graphs below Base (Red Line) vs Custom Map (Blue Line) View attachment 12921 Custom Baffle Out (Blue Line) vs Custom Baffle In (Red Line) View attachment 12922 The bike rides so much better now, and I will probably carry on riding with the baffle in, for the difference it makes i'm not that fussed. The only thing I can say that might make a difference in the numbers is that the ambient temperature in the dyno cell was 39.9 degrees by the time the custom maps were done, so maybe if the cell was cooler bigger numbers would have appeared. But all in all I am very happy with the result, riding through town etc is so much easier and smoother.
