I have done straight line tests to confirm the 848 was quicker
0-120 against a 2010 repsol blade...but then the paint might
    Have slowed it down lol.

You wont regret it - I certainly haven't ... got my blade last week and much prefer riding Blade.

Think we also have a common link, who is currently on holiday :)

My boss bought a brand new 848 evo 2 years ago after selling his Desmose Dici and had it on the road 2 weeks before he decided it would make an awesome track bike. Before that he raced a 1098 and said the 848 was far better.

Yes, think he is feeling a little left out now. Told him he has to get Julia drunk and promise him that he can change his when he gets back home, think he may struggle a little there. Unless he doesn't tell her, she wouldn't notice !

This Ducati is 2 miles from me - I looked at it on Saturday afternoon - lovely machine and immaculate but sometimes you just want a change.

They also had a matt black 848 that looked lush (now sold)

They have loads of other Ducati's for sale too!

Got a feeling the Matt Black 848 was mine ... an '11 plate, 3600 miles-ish, was up at £8395 I think ... if it was mine, good to see it's got a new home !

Yep - was almost tempted by it.

Hunts appear to price their non-Honda used stock better than their Honda stuff - and to this day I've never seen a dogs dinner of a bike in the showroom, they have a buyer who takes it all from them if its not up to scratch

What's with all this 'Belt' shyte?

Just been looking at a 1098 Track Bike which 'boasts' of it just having had a £980 Dealer 'Belt Service'!

That's nothing to boast about pal, especially as it's it's second one in under £8K, makes me thing 'Fek That' for a game of Soldiers!

Do all Dukes have this 'Belt' system, and what is it, is it a cam belt or what?

cam belts get changed every two years or 12k miles whatever comes first.
they are only £70 but the stealers stick their arms in as they have the tools
to lock the cams and they also claim the valve check is a big job.problem I had
was only one dealer over here did them and when I got the belts changed and
valve check they said it would cost no more than £300.they hit me with a £550
bill so I paid up and told them I would never be back.sold the duke soon after.
