Next week, I am going to px my 08 R1 for Repsol Blade (09)

I have seen a couple, but 1 has a Silver Frame and 1 has a Black Frame, but both listed as rr9, was there a frame colour option ?

From what I've heard is that only genuine factory Repsols have silver frames , and any with black frames started out life as another colour and have had repsol bodywork added at a later date ,the newer ones i.e 2010 onwards have black subframes with a silver main frame, my rr9 has a silver frame and silver subframe ,swing arm.
    Jase.

you sure mate? if it was a sprayed up HRC, you'd get the look you're after but would be faster than all the other repsols ;)

Mine is a 2011 and has a silver frame, but 2010's had a black frame........ It all depends on the year of manufacture.

Genuine repsol's are also shown on their logbook (UK) as being "Orange".

I thought Honda only made Repsols on odd number years i.e 05,07, 09,11 etc , might be wrong though:D

You are correct, odd years only, but a lot were purchased (Registered) late.

Colours Listed On Log Books............. Arghhh, they don't make it easy. Mine's a genuine 2011 Repsol and like other 2011 Repsol's is shown on the log book as Orange.

    They didn't make it easy.

the 05 repsols had black frames, 07,09,11 have silver frames. if theres any variation there not a genuine repsol model. lots out there with repalcement bodywork but always the doubting question WHY??

    Confusion over.....

Spoke to the dealer today selling the 09 Repsol with (black frame) turns out it was supplied by them new, and then they got it painted by Dream Machine in Repsol colours.

    Thanks everyone for your info

Why... Because the standard repsol colours are to common and really outdated... One good reason why ;-)

Although to be fair, the one doubt in my mind when buying my blade was the resale issues, as I to used to think exactly the same about custom and resprayed bikes.

My '07 Repsol say's Multi-coloured on the log book, on the Honda certificate of newness it states Repsol and has a silver frame, it's a genuine one for sure :)
