Well what can I say ........ Balls of steal these lads have in these conditions , They all have there own stories to tell , So I won't say anything , but I do have loads and loads and loads of pictures , will upload later on tonight .
Home - the challenge now is where the heck to start with all the footage / photos / stories... For now this is Trevor MacDonald signing off from the Oulton Report - however as Arnie once said 'I'll be back' =
Suns coming out, and roads are dry... We must be heading south! Lol Radio weather report for Cheshire tomorrow 27degress. Oh well, shit happens. Great catching up with the lads.... Huge thanks to Andy for putting us up! Let's hope brands in sept is a dryer event. Lol
I'll go first then....................I had a bit of a crash today ( medical staff said the marshal hadn't seen anyone slide a bike and themselves that far and get up and ride the bike back to the pits !!! ) Lost it on spilt petrol, not to much damage to myself and the bike, quick repair to get back on the track, then the bloody thing fell off the side stand and landed on the other side DOH ! All in all an eventful day, very wet, but enjoyed the company and had a ball
I'll go next then... started off steady and scared, then really started enjoying it going quicker and adding a bit more lean, 3rd session came down pit straight into turn 1 lost back and high sided shouldn't of been showboating with the KD just gave it too much throttle and back came round to meet the front professional photographer got some really good pics of the whole incident (which I'm sure alblade is chomping at the bit to get on here!) so I joined the club with andy there, then half hour later in the pits started bike still in gear and fell over on other side, joined andys other club! either way had a great day out learnt a lot, met some really good guys from the forum. we have a awesome bunch of chaps on here! can't wait to go back to oulton on a dry day and see what its like. Al.....
I too thoroughly enjoyed myself but only managed three sessions before calling it a day. Conditions became atrocious and were'nt helped by the gonad on the crosser dropping fuel or oil all round the track! After falling off at the last meeting I wasn't taking any chances. Great to see Gary popping his cherry although not sure I would have gone out on the Racetecs he had on his bike! Such a shame for our Southern brothers after making the pilgrimage "oop north" to be faced with a monsoon. Credit to young Tyke who has far too many beans inside him and who also might listen more closely to a voice of experience next time. Big up to Andy for putting on a spectacular display of wet weather riding and Jason for staying upright Nice to meet Marion and also great to see Barney and Al again. If the guy recovering fallen bikes had been on piecework he'd have made a fortune today, it really was that bad! Great to finish off in the pub with a beer ( or wine for the cultured ) then wave off Jim and Dave into the errr sunset back to Kent.
Very wet today feel sorry for Jimbo and Dave who travelled a long way but regardless of the wet conditions we all still have a right laugh ,and for me personally I enjoy the time in the garage nearly as much as I do time spent on track. Another day on wets and these really are a great investment as they are awesome ,and well done to Gary B for popping his cherry I am sure his full report we be up here along with on board footage . Great to meet up with all the other lads and thanks to Barney for braving the crap weather to get a load of pics which will soon be on here . Can't wait for the return leg at brands on sep 19th let's hope the weather is good to us.
Least you boys crashed trying!! I wobbled round for 2 sessions and called it a day. (I know - p()ssy) Mixed emotions really.... Wanted to try the wets, but then I know I would have prob joined the club lol.... Got to get some though, you boys and jason were flying today. Respect!
I'm just desperate to a day on track with you all in the dry to redeem myself and improve i'm not just a wreckless idiot! Bike is stripped and the damage is- Cracked fairing which will fiberglass up Missing footpeg- already replaced Bent clipon- already replaced Subframe has gone away for straightening and welding tonite Bottom line everyone made it home in one piece, hope whoever came off when the med car went racing out is ok...
"You boys and Jason" ???????? Is there something he never told me about?.........And I shared a room with him at Cadwell!!!
Glad everyone ok ish on a day that seemed like the last day I went to oulton loads standing water wets don't work canoes do ! Glad everyone ok . Crashing in my book is a part of learning my dad always said plastic and metal will always fix as long as you walk away and sup a beer FairPlay to everyone that stuck with it I done 4 sessions on wets at sodden oulton and the rain was that heavy I didn't feel comfy and van bound it went . Well done boys
Pmsl... You boys was a reference to the sliders lol.... Jason was the last man standing of the wet riders! I know what you mean though Steve, I'm not standing next to him on a group photo again! and he keeps trying to get me to go to Europe????
