I've recently bought a second hand Honda Akrapovic Sports Exhaust (ABS) like this Honda Titanium slip on exhaust (for ABS type) 11-12 [08F88MFL900A] - £873.22 : Northwest Honda, Honda Bike Parts & Accessories which I will be fitting to my 2012 CBR1000RR

Has anyone got a link to the fitting instructions? - or would anyone be able to email me a scanned copy?

I have found these instructions on the net (not sure if these apply to the Honda supplied one) :-

    http://az79640.vo.msecnd.net/akrapovicbppmultimedia/ce4a3dd58b994f7e9e850253ebadeb9e.pdf

Do I need to move the right foot peg out slightly (as detailed on page 8?). If so I didn't get the 5mm spacers but presume I can just use suitable sized washers instead? Do I need the Akrapovic grease detailed in the instructions?

    Thanks for any help :)

    Cheers,

    Ian.

What's the difference between an ABS and Non-ABS Zorst?

Does it suddenly loose all pressure randomly at 'in Town filtering speeds' and thus make the engine run rough?

:) Yes you would think it would be the same part! The link pipe is different and the cable is longer - I only know that as I contacted the UK Importers.

Na, the non c-abs exhaust takes 15mins to fit and the c-abs model takes 4 hours to do, just like bleeding the brakes (not true, but could be) :D

I should have a copy of the instructions as I have one fitted to my 2011 ABS. If I can find them I will get them scanned and posted up during the week. You might have to be patient though as we still have no broadband or 3G after last weeks storms.

Ok that's great if you get chance :) If not, please could you just check whether you have the 5mm spacers spacing out the right hand footpeg (as detailed in instructions I found above).

    Cheers,

    Ian.

Thanks ChrisOzzz, I think that link is similar to the one I posted earlier but will take a look.

Can anyone help with these questions "Do I need to move the right foot peg out slightly (as detailed on page 8?). If so I didn't get the 5mm spacers but presume I can just use suitable sized washers instead? Do I need the Akrapovic grease detailed in the instructions?"

    Cheers,

Yep I had to move the foot peg out on mine. I'm sure washers would be fine.. But you should have them in the kit. Give where you got it from a call.

OK, thanks. I bought it secondhand off here and it didn't come with the spacers. Cheers, Ian.

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I don't think I will need the instructions now, the ones in the PDF link above should be ok, and its been confirmed the 5mm spacers are needed for the footpeg. Fitting this weekend hopefully.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

Is our American 'Friend' the cheapest place for souring a new Akro?
