I think if he races Phillip island, he'll win, even without racing for a year

Would be great to see Stoner back in Moto GP, and on a Honda.
Was my favourite rider until he quit. Now I don't have any real favourite to cheer on.
It's a shame that Moto 2 outshines the big event though.

Well Mr Honda won't learn a damn thing from any test Stoner does, if he was any sort of development rider the Ducati would have been a far better bike. Ducati loved it because he rode it well enough without them spending too much on development, something Ducati have since admitted.
Fast, without a doubt but certainly not a development rider.

It'd be smashing to have him back. Amazing talent.

His riding left me speechless. And I'm well gobby.

Don't think there's any way he would be would go back to Ducati after the way he was treated over his illness. Was it lactose intolerant ? He has said as much in the past that he felt they didn't believe him. That's why he left and went to Honda.

Yet you would think a company as big as Ducati would actually try to develop the bike to be able to be rode by a lesser rider than Stoner (i.e. Hayden).
Yet they seemed reluctant to do it.
Every manufacturer wants a fast rider. In Stoner they don't come much quicker.
So it kind of makes sense to try and develop a bike to suit the fastest rider, then work your way back.
To all but Ducati it seems anyway.
They couldn't even develop the bike with Rossi either.

My view on Ducati is that they have a fundamental problem with their race philosophy. Like any team they like to have a fast rider who can win, which they sometimes get. We've seen it in motogp and superbikes over the years with Fogarty, Bayliss and Stoner. But where are the other Ducati riders in any of those championships over the years.
The difference between Ducati and the other manufacturers, mainly Honda & Yamaha is that Ducati are over the moon to win a few races and maybe a championship or two along the way, the others want to win the Riders championship, the manufacturers and team prizes too for years on end if possible and really want to see the top 5 places filled with their bikes.
Of course Ducati just haven't got the budget and possibly resources at their disposal to match the likes of Honda and Yamaha.

I don't like him as a person, but no-one can knock his riding skills and it would be great to have him back in the pack. Think he needed this time out to reflect and spend time with his new baby girl and I don't blame him either. But once a racer, always a racer. He's still very young and has great talent so if he does work his way back then bloody good luck to him and I hope he does well.... just stop being so snotty Casey, it's racing and it's tough... get used to it, it gives you a wealthy and privileged lifestyle, make the most of it...I would give my right arm....'cept then I couldn't ride.... doh!!

He was ear marked last year at Philip/stoner island that he would be given a factory ride there to see if he could keep his record going for winning!

Ducati had a problem with listening to what the rider says in required to be altered with the bike! The rider would say something and the engineers said no we can't change that Ducati is known for always having/using that method and so they skipped around the issue an didn't make the necessary steps forward. Stoner said that happened when he was there and same thing happened with Rossi!

Is a factory team actually "allowed" to have more than 2 bikes / 2 riders on the grid? cause I can't imagine Honda to get rid of either Marques or Pedrosa cause both are fighting for the championship title
