Sorry I didn't meet Alex but we had a short torrid affair a few yrs ago but I really don't want to talk about that. What i'd really like to talk about is 'adjustable rearsets' I have a 2013 Fireblade and its grt but wouldn't mind a bit more room and would be happier if footpegs were a bit lower? Over the years have heard about rear-sets etc but never needed to use them in the past. What are they and why are they so expensive? I want the footpegs to be lowered by about 2 inches, would rearsets do this? Why do they call them 'rearsets' if they replace the front footpegs? Don't ask me for Alexs' number because I've deleted it and if you haven't figured it out yet i'm having early weekend drinks! Allahu Akbar
Random. It's sort of short for rear set footpegs and foot controls, look on any race bike from past 50 years and you'll see that the pegs are set further back than on a road bike, allowing a greater level of tucking in, nowadays it just refers to the fact that you can adjust the pegs back and forward to suit.
thanks so If I want to move the footpegs down 2 inches for my long legs buying a rearset wouldnt help me? A rearset just moves the peg forward or back? is that correct? thanks
Most aftermarket rear sets give around an inch of travel or adjustability up/down back/forth depending on the manufacturer of the rear sets some offer more. U could also have extra padding added to ur seat this would raise you but keep the normal peg height as the lower u put the pegs the more likely they are to hit the ground when cornering!
Thanks for info, and sorry about the stupid heading I put on this thread I had a few too many beers yesterday, don't worry will not happen again, very silly
These might be of use if you don't want to go the whole hog and get rear sets, especially if you get the set padded also! They bolt on in place of your standard pegs. PASSENGER PILLION ADJUSTABLE FOOTPEGS FOOTRESTS HONDA (04-13) CBR1000RR | eBay
