Morning, I thought their story may be of interest to you as they are supporting the British Legion and commemorating the 100th anniversary of WWI and the 52 towns around Britain that did not loose anyone. They are taking plaques to each town around the country in memory of these great men who fought for us, a worthy cause I'm sure you will agree. You can find a story on them in MCN and they are taking part in today's Horse Guards Parade - the first time bikes have ever taken part!! Please follow the link below to read more about this fantastic cause. Thankful Villages Run - Home Many thanks Andy
I think I will tag onto this on the Sunday leg, will look out of place on a 'Blade amongst all the 'tractors' but all for a good cause and the RBLR are a good bunch.
Prob going to meet up with the ride at Knutsford Services M6 early hours of Sunday then stay with them till Llangurig....
this is the update from Facebook about this run Well guys. Last two days of the trip. Two very big days. Us face bookers have been watching every thing avidly. For Med and Dougie, we cannot say how proud we are for your achievements. It must be so hard some days, for you and the others following your lead. It has been delightful to see the photos and share the joy of the villagers and the pleasure you have given to everyone. There have been some emotional times, we have all had our hankies out. This has had a massive impact on a lot of people. Their are some awesome and emotional posts for you to read. You bikers are an amazing community of wonderful, caring and selfless folk. The last two days need to be even more amazing. As many bikers on the run as can get out, as many families as can get to the events. We also need the best turnouts for Dougie passing through his home area, and for Med and everyone who has so much as pressed the Like button or cursed me , for the Triumphant ... Return to Llanfihangel y Creuddyn. Please post, share and repost. And donft forget to donate if you havent already! Best efforts now. Thank you xx
This is the Sunday route - no idea on numbers who will join - Beckers was thinking to get to Knutsford for 08:00 - me a bit more relaxed and thinking 09:00 as they don't set off till 08:00 from further up the M6 http://goo.gl/maps/jua8G Neither of us sure of where we will split - depends on how day goes I guess / numbers attending
Weather for SUnday not looking good so change of plan - a spin out to Devils Bridge this afternoon to join them for the final leg today (Saturday)
Great day yesterday despite getting soaked more times than I care to remember! The reception the ride got in the village of Harley was amazing, Royal British Flag Bearers either side of the road, the whole village came out and were clapping us on arrival.
Sounds like the villages I went to on Saturday afternoon, felt like whole village turned out and they appreciated interest. Very moving speach comparing village where all came home with a recent regiment who at their homecoming service a list of names of the fallen was read. How long did you stay with the run for on Sunday?
Just a quick thank you to everybody who has supported the guys. What they have done is incredible and the support that you have shown, no matter how big or small is very much appreciated. Thank you Andy
