Will you not miss the punch of the 3.0 engine over the 2.0? I recently sold my 320d 177hp Tourer miss it like mad. Fantastic car with the auto box.

I'll miss the power and the auto box but I do less than 10000 per year and the 330 particle filter indicator light is almost always on. I'm also on a £20,000 budget and the M Sports are pricey I can get a 320 d M Sport 2011/12 low mileage BMW approved for that so after tomorrow's test drive I'll decide?

I will miss current car though!

Nice choice Carl,I have had em both too and will honestly say an msport 320d is what I would buy again.Newer ones are low tax brackets too.
Brilliant car even for towing too.Chipping it brings it near a 330d if u want more power later.
I now run an X5 3.0d only 5k miles a year not getting rid of it cos it has lost money now.Old technology no DPF to worry about.Only bug bear is it costs nearly £10 aweek in car tax:(.

One thing to bare in mind is the type of driving you do.

The small engine'd cars lose a lot of their claimed fuel consumption figures around town compared to the bigger 3L diesels, especially the heavier cars like a 5 series or E Class Mercs when not on the Motorway on minimal throttle openings.

I run a Merc E320 Sport Diesel and it gives around 34mpg around town and 45mpg on the Motorway.
Had a new E220 Diesel for a week as a courtesy car and it's fuel consumption was shocking around town as you had to thrash it to make progress due to the lack of Torque compared to the 3 Litre Turbo.

Fair do's wafting along at 80 on the M-way it was in to the early 50's

That's funny, i'm in an E91 320d M Sport, but really want a 330d M Sport. Let me know how you get on at the dealers as i'd be interested to know what you're after for it.

:D maybe, maybe not, buts its a rather quick quattro, I really think you might be watching its quad pipes disappearing into the distance.......don't even factor in when the road gets wet

On another note to the OP, my wife had an E91. 330D MSport for 4 years until recently, top engine and so much more resposive than the 2 litre, but you will know after your test drive what you prefer, as long as you ditch the runflats they are great cars.

I will upset everyone then. My son has got a Nissan S15 at 355bhp he's lucky if he gets 15 mpg on a good day, even less when he goes drifting !

    I had a 320d M Sport auto.
    Nice car.
Crap fuel economy on short runs but around 45mpg on a run.
Sold it cause it was a bit too small for my needs at the time.
