Have been looking at getting a power commander or similar, but do wonder which is best? Power commander 5, two brothers juice box or the bazzaz unit! Answers and opinions on a postcard please
Best not too sure as they all pretty much do the same thing, the Bazzaz has more features depending on model purchased but both the Bazzaz and two brothers are more popular in the US and therefore there can be a bit of a shortage in finding tuners to remap those devices in the UK! The dynojet units are the most popular in the uk and tuners can be found all over the UK.
The Bazzaz works with all 8 injectors as standard, you can just buy the fuel module if you don't want the shifter and traction, having a map on all 8 injectors will give you a better map than just 4 but will cost you a little bit more money for mapping. the PC3 and 5 are essentially the same and only map 4 injectors, but you can buy a secondary fuel module for them that will allow you to map the other 4 injectors as well, but it works out more expensive than just buying the bazzaz. there are plenty of tuners that can map both units so it wont be hard to find one.
I dont think there's much difference in the mapping etc. as us mortals prob wouldnt notice the difference. Id say it's a choice whether u want a cheap wat to have traction control or not
The Full Bazzaz setup for a Blade c/w with Traction Control, Power Map switch and TC Light is £750 Fitting and a Custom Dyno tune is extra so it's guna be pushing a Grand I reckon?
I posted this a while back. http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/10083.htm. A little bias towards the Bazzaz but gives a good lowdown. You also have a HRC ECU and a standard ECU reflash/unlock to add to the mix!. I like Power Commander as I am familiar with it and prefer how the Autotune works over the Bazzaz Z-AFM equivalent. Not really a found the need for TC as I don't ride that hard, - yet! and when it comes to shifting from what I hear PC combined with HM is pretty good. But my recommendation is find out what your local Dyno prefers.
yep was a good read with some good info (but you need to read past the bias). as for the comment about the 4-v-8 injector and not noticing a difference, well you will if you have a q/s fitted aswell as it wont stop the fueling on the top injecters so makes for lumpy changes. personnly i like the bazzaz, and as far as i;m aware(in my experience at least) if a dyno centre can map power commanders, they can map a bazzaz system.
Scooby I do get that the pcv only adjusts the feeling for the lower 4 injectors but if you were to purchase the dynojet quick shift unit you would have to purchase a module such as QEM (Quick shifter Expansion Module) or the SEM (Secondary Fuel Module). Both of these units connect into the upper fuel rail and allow the fuel to be shut off momenteraly to allow the shifter to work as the Bazzaz unit does! The benefit of the SEM unit means that the fuelling can be adjusted to the upper rail in the same way the pcv adjusts fuel to the lower model where as the QEM module is used only to interrupt power to the upper fuel rail.
Anyone got the full Bazzaz system on their 08+ Blade? Only asking as it looks a fairly big piece of hardware and my tail section aint exactly 'Estate' like in it's capacity?
yes I have a full system that i'm selling I want £550.00 for the full kit inc shifter and tc, map switch etc. only selling it as I don't use the tc or the shifter
