East meets West! Sunday 25th,all welcome to come along for whole ride or meet us enroute. Plan is to meet in Crieff then head out A85 to Crianlarich then A82/83 to Inveraray, stopping for lunch along the way. Continue down to Lochgilphead then up to Oban then back along the A85 to Perth. If you're coming from the north I think Colin and Andy are meeting at Finavon,I'll be departing from Perth. Forecast looking good so fingers crossed they've got it right
miles away from me however.... we are having our christmas do at crieff, i have a terrible feeling there nowt there... is there much there.... or is my idea of mad friday in the middle of nowhere about right
Crieff is one if those wee places that is always busy in summer months even tho there's not really much to do. However,it's the gateway to some great biking roads with stunning scenery
Hey Ross, I'm a definite I was thinkin I could meet you at the Glover Arms next to Dobbies at the start of A85 just need a time mate
Just waiting to hear from Colin and Andy what time they are meeting. I was thinking about 10.30 at the Glover Arms and meet them in Crieff about 11.
That's 1 hell of a journey that mate. Are you sure it can be done in 1 day. Especially when starting at 11 at Crief?
5 hours there going by Lochgilphead, then 3 hours back mate, can cut it back if you thinks its a bit long
i might be able to make some of that run, prob just from crieff to crainlarich. only home for couple of days so loads to try and fit in. been a god few weeks since out on blade.
Have done that run before, left Perth about 10.30 and was home for 17.25 We can leave half hour earlier, weather looking good and it's a great run.
Sounds like a good run that. I'm at a family wedding in Perth on the Saturday so would have to cash in some serious brownie points to attend wedding on my bike to be ready for Sunday. Bit draughty wearing a kilt on the bike! Lol
Need to remember mate, we will be another 1.5-2 hours on top of that from where we are, plus lunch and fuel stops. Your talking 10-11 hours on a bike there.
When we did it last we had at least 1 hour lunch break and had to stop for my mates broken down ktm He'd taken his neck tube off and chucked it under seat, got sucked into his air intake We could always try and set off earlier to give ourselves more time.
We can play it by ear guys! No pressure just lots of fun We could see how we're doin time wise and adjust accordingly! Without make matters worse is Tyndrum-GlenCoe-Kinlochleven-A828-A85 to Perth longer or shorter just thinkin of alternative if the Lochgilphead is to long! I donno dudes I'm just a happy passenger
