Yup dudes ,In a couple of weeks I will be waving the Blade good bye and mounting a new GSXR 750 .Really fancy a change this time and doing the research on the Gixer looks like it will be fine for me . I will be having a yoshi twin port carbon can fitted / Ventershield/ Yoshi tail tidy/ Wheels off and powder coated in White / ASV levers/ Carbon seat cowl .Once run in I will be looking for a PC and maybe gold chain and sprockets .I know I will lose the grunt of the blade but with a 600 chassis new lighter wheels and frame Bembro brakes and Showa forks ect can't think its a bad choice .Speaking to a few of the boys on here the general feeling is top bike .The blade has been brilliant so no complaints but I just don't really like the shape of the new model and Alblade says the R1 drinks fuel so that has been considered .I may hang around if you still want me " sob" but pretty stoked up for my new little friend all the same .
Please hang around Giv . Had 3 Gixer 750's in the past and they are awesome bikes and so flickable. What colour you getting ? Good luck with your new bike and don't forget the pics.
Glad you like them its a Blue and white which I think is a must have .I have had the 02 and 07 thou but found them heavy " against the blade " but looking for something still lighter but a big bike .One thing I don't like and never have done is the front light and I was thinking could I get a white headlamp protector but carefully drill a 75 mm hole in it bang on the beam so it looks good but I have some daytime lighting its not a massive fetish but my be something to consider .
As long as you still a biker GIV doesn't matter what you ride ,I am getting the twin port Yoshi on my bmw they look great dont they . Look forward to our next ride out on our new bikes .
Awesome bike mate, two dudes in the masiff ride them and swear by them- both can keep up with the litres when they want to. On a personal note, ur a top bloke that's made me feel welcome on the forum, so I hope you stick around. People like you make it what it is, fook what bike you ride.
Blue and white is the best colour not surprised you picked that. I had two blue and white and one black, which was faster of course lol Great mate enjoy it.
As said mate, sure you will get on fine, great bikes and proven pedigree so no doubt you'll gel with it. Don't go anywhere mate, we can just chat in the other bikes section lol. Keep us posted how you get on and bed in with the new machine...
I would definitely get another Giv if I could, but I am keeping my old girl for a few more years yet, spent too much getting her how I want. I will always love Gixers, I had a 1000 which was also awesome, but on the road I found the 750 more than enough and the Blue and White is for me what a bike should look like. Would love an old SRad as well , just love that shape, could look at them all day. Sad I know but then I am old lol.
Whatever you ride Giv you're always welcome to stay and chat to us all.Top bloke enjoy your new bike.
Giv who will you use to powder coat your wheels white as i might get mine done over winter ,any idea on price//??
Jason ,I am having the dealer do them as part of the deal ,however I will find out but I think you are only looking at about £250.00 tops
Great bikes Giv you will love it. Had a go of my mates the other week, and once i stopped riding it like a 1000cc bike and more like a 600 it really took off. Only thing is on the next tour you will be kept out the main pics like the rest of the impostors Only kidding mate I for 1 would have you on tour with me anywhere for your banter. Top bloke.
That sounds way over the top to me Giv! Whatever you do don't let the dealer do them, he'll only give them to a paint sprayer then put his wedge on top! My mate told me he could get his done for £50.00, although that was a bit of a favour to him, that's one hell of a difference in cost!
As mentioned on the phone I have so much footage of 750 Gixers leaving me for dust in Spain / France - only time I left them was pulling away on uphill sections where it was nice and open - get on the twisty stuff and they were gone. You will need to learn to let it sing - If you look at this film from about 16 minutes to 23 and you will see 3 750' having a real tussle going up Cow Shit road from Ripol in Spain up to the Col De Tosses, not one of the litre bikes on that trip could keep up with them. 2010 Wednesday on Vimeo
Al I'd need to lay down after a spin on that road. Looks great but I would be blowing out my ass after that.
