Weathers looking good, sunny with a slight risk of a shower, should be a good day out. Colin,Andy, what time do you reckon you'll be in Crieff for?
Ok,not sure about meeting place. There's a nice big layby on the right just outside Crieff as you head towards crianlarich?
Well after a few texts the alure of a lap of the Scotsburgring on the R1 was too much, so I'd better pack my stickers if we do make it up there.. They have to be earned mind For a meeting point I've just see a Shell Garage using google maps in high Street PH7 3JA - its small forecourt but there is a Ford garage just over road with space to park up - that way we all fill up there to start on a level (till R1 needs juice early doors) I'll be travelling up from South Glasgow Sunday am and will aim for 10:30 latest as weather looks good.
Nice 1 Al. I'll need to see if that R1 of yours is up to the task of tackling our amazing roads PS you can park your bike in my dads garage beside the SP1 and the Blackbird. Theres also all the tools you will ever need just incase the 2 honda's take a disliking to the yam
You know that feeling when you know you shouldn't but just might anyway? Family wedding still on but heroically offered to be the driver. Also convinced the team that an overnight stay is an extravagance so home and about 30 feet away from the blade when I wake up in the morning. The theme to "The Great Escape" is playing inside my head at the mo.
What route you planning? Would be good to meet up at some point on the road? There's hardly a bad road up that way of course.
Looks like we're gonna go for the Scotsburgring Taking Crieff as a start and finish point it's 159 miles and 3h 50min(as per Google maps) This doesn't take into account lunch and photo stops etc. Oh,and fuel stops for Als R1
Our other option is Crieff to Oban via Inveraray and Lochgilphead but it's 213miles 5h 13min(as per Google maps) It's a fantastic route but maybe a little long depending on how far you stay from Crieff.
It is a good road mate but as you say it might be a bit long for a day trip for those travelling further. We could always wait and see what sort of time we have on the return journey, and maybe do it then.
Another option well worth considering is Creiff to Oban via the "welly" then connal up to the scotsburgring via coast road and then down thru glen Coe to Creiff. Unsure of the miles but not one bad road that way)
Bikes sitting in garage washed and fuelled for tomorrow, away to give it quick once over and check tyre pressures
