Hello all, Recently bought a RR9. I have removed the metal mesh from std Air Filter and bike has a Scorpion can fitted. I have just purchased a PC5 and O2 eliminator. Can anyone tell me the benefit of un plugging O2 sensor and what Map I should down load for my bike. Thanks.
The o2 bypass unlocks the closed loop section of the map . usually the first Quarter rev counter which allows the pc to adjust for smoother power delivery From the word go.map wise there should be one on the dynojet website but A custom map will always be better. Make surw that standard filter doesn't break Apart with the mesh not giving it support.
Not sure why you started another thread on the pc5? you could have just bumped your own thread and asked in therehttp://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/12519.htm, anyway I had tried to explain the differences and benefits of each map type from the generic maps from dynojet as mentioned by phantom above. The generic maps get you by but are not always great on every bike as I mentioned I had fuelling hesitations with generic map and recently got an autotune to try and sort it out which so far it's done a great job. Lastly there is the option to take your bike to a dynojet tuner who will create a custom made map for your bike!
O2 eliminator opens the closed map as phantom has said , and if u didnt fit one the ecu with be tryin to adjust the air/fuel mixture from what info is coming back from the o2 sensor, Effectively fitting the eliminator allows u to unplug the o2 sensor and not get a warning on the dash
Just jumping in here, when fitting a slip on without a Pc5 am I better off leaving the O2 sensor fitted or remove it and fit a blanking plug and O2 eliminator On these bikes I am unsure if their is any advantage either way ?
Id leave it in , then the ecu can adjust the fueling, you only need the eliminator with the pcv , Say you load a map to a pcv and run the bike with the o2 sensor , the ecu will constantly try to change the fueling from the reading it gets back from the o2 sensor,
Dynojet only has limited maps . I took mine to Richard at dynojet he done me 2 maps baffle out and baffle in with a switch . Bike was running way to rich with there preloaded map has a lovely curve he was really impressed bit not with my d212 tyre slowing his roller down ooooops

164 ish mate can't remember exactly he was a bit pi55ed off as tyre was sticking he was going to remove tyre and for a knackered road one as he couldn't get a full power run . But I had been there from 11am to 5;30pm so I told him not to worry about it asking him is fuelling was ok he said spot on I was happy he said at least 3-5 more without the sticking . I'm never gonna use the 160 lol so happy . No irratic tick over now and seems a lot crisper buddy . I was gonna go bazazz but stuck to what I know I couldn't find a map centre by me
Sine, Think the Bazzaz is a lot more popular in the US than it is here. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of features installed on the efi tc unit but I have heard a lot of folks saying the traction control is pretty pointless unless ur racin the bikes as you need to be really pushing the bike in order to to get the the tc setup properly and most people just gave up on the whole tc thing and used the other functions of the Bazzaz! As mentioned u may have difficulty finding a tuner close that deals with the bazzaz units as there are by far more power commander tuners in the UK. I think the Bazzaz unit ends up being smaller if you intend on adding things like quick shifter capabilities and such as the power commander requires multiple units the same size of the pc5 that have to be fitted into an already cramped for space blade!
I looked at the Bazzaz and as mentioned there are very few places that can actually map a bike so you are stuck with a preset map, not that this would bother me really as long as it ran well with a library map. Of to the US tomorrow so I was tempted to get one there as they are only around £200 all in but think I might be pushing it with my other half what with looking at bringing back exhausts and a screen already !!
I have seen something about throttle values. Other than putting a map on do I need to do anything after fitting PC5. Also can I plug eliminator into loom under tank and leave O2 sensor in exhaust?
Had a quick ride out on bike today. Weather not the best. The main change in bike was smoothness at lower revs. Cannot say I noticed any more power. But as I say it felt nicer / smoother.
Excuse me for being bit thick on this subject guys, but having just purchased a PCV from shing90, I realise I need an O2 eliminator. Do I remove lambda sensor from exhaust and if so is there some kind of blanking plug you can get to put in.
The easy option is to put your O2 back in and buy the O2 eliminator. Plugs don't cost much but make sure you buy M12 X1.25
Thanks slick, I think I will take your advice and get eliminator, leaving the original sensor in exhaust.
