I have an 09 Fireblade and I absolutely love it but after covering 20k on UK roads I think its just starting to feel a bit tired, the feeling I'm referring to is experienced when rolling from on to off or back on again. Despite having a silky smooth touch the bike is beginning to feel just a bit saggy. Has anyone else experienced similar behaviour?

I'd really like to regain that crisp agile feeling, my lilmited mechanical knowledge suggests this could be due to one or more of the following

    Slack / worn chain
    Worn cush drives
    Suspension needing service
Worn headstem / shock linkage and perhaps other associated bearings

Is there anything else I sould consider?

When was last time it was serviced? Air filter could need changing or spark plugs done.
Have the valve clearances ever been checked?

Its always serviced by Honda and always to schedule, the last being a major service including shim check. I also check the oil almost every ride changing the oil after about 3000-4000 miles.

    As you mentioned suspension
Doesn't the 08-11 suffer with rear shock from heat of the exhaust?

I'll need to look into that, I wasn't aware of a heat issue for the rear shock.

Slasherr, I have an 08 model that was feeling the same, 22,000 miles and time to change the chain and sprockets. Took it for a 300 mile ride on Sunday and what a difference! Power wheelie's in second gear! Changed it just in time for my/our holiday ;)
