How many of you use sites like facebook etc.

It seems to cause me more grief than anything else, considering deleting it once ive saved all my biking photos. Would be interested to know what those of you who are older than me think about such sites.

I use facebook, but I certainly am not glued to it 24/7. good way of keeping in touch with people and finding out what is going on.

I use FB and don't have any problems with it. I'm not on it all the time and use it like Rob does to keep in touch with people. You can set your profile to restrict access and posting to certain people so you can set up groups like close friends and work colleagues etc to restrict what they can see and do.

Usually best not to add old flames as they tend to bait you up somewhat, well at least mine do lol ;)

I use FaceBook a lot. I'm very careful about who sees what I post though. Only people on my friends list and only then if they are on my 'close friend' list. That way, if I get pestered by, fr'instance, a customer or a supplier, with a friends request, I don't have to put their nose out of joint by refusing or ignoring it, but they still can't directly see what I'm posting just in case it may cause any offence that may make it awkward for me, professionally, further down the line. For example, my bosses daughter pestered me for friendship and he kept asking me if I'd accepted her or not. To get them off my back I agreed but kept her in the outer circle. She, and by definition, he, doesn't get to see anything I post unless somebody else gives it to them, and I work hard to avoid such an occurrence. Anybody that gets onto the inner circle list just has to learn to live with what they see is what they get.

Once you get your head around the privacy options you can protect yourself from most of the trolls. I am constantly amazed at the pond life that does actually manage to post on there, seeing as they have to be able to operate a keyboard of some type, but the advantage of the internet is that it gives everybody a voice. The big disadvantage of it though is that it gives everybody a voice...

I use it without issues. I have friends and family from all over the world and found it a good way to keep in touch with people. I Have deleted a lot of people I have nothing in common with like old school mates I never see. or have anything in common with.

Facebook's great as long as you don't take it too seriously.

I'll post any embarrassing sh*t that happens to me if I think it'll give people a laugh but my profile's set to totally private so only friends can see it and so it doesn't matter.

I'm joking mate I've got over 200 friends that in the real world I actually barely know if at all and certainly wouldn't class them as friends lol ;)

Constant pointless updates are what get to me! Like just had weetabix for breakfast now off for a shower... #excited
