    Hi just a quick question.

Does anyone know when you get a new key cut does it have to have a transponder in it for the HISS immobiliser

If the bike has HISS fitted it will need a coded key to start it

Pop into any Honda dealer and they can order a key and get it cut, they will then have to code it to the bike! Takes about 15mins for them to do.

Phone around though as the price can vary quite a lot. I got it done on my 954 I had a few years ago as when I bought the bike it only had one key

Is it right the US models don't have the HISS? So If I buy a US ECU shouldnt have to worry about this right?

Not sure on the USA versions having HISS but the ecu's might not give full power like ours do due to emissions etc

Besides is probably still cheaper for a new key to be coded by Honda than a second hand ecu that you don't know the history of!

The US models don't have HISS. The US bikes are restricted via ignition retard and some (eg, California) have additional emmissions related stuff.

Some key cutting shops like timpsons can cut and code your key but not sure how much they charge tho.

That is a lot, get another quote. When i got my 954 it also only had one key, i got another one cut then took both keys to my local Honda dealer, they charged me about £30 to code it, took about 10 mins
