my last bike was an 848, to be honest it was the best bike i have ever owned, i threw so much money at it then sold it for next to nothing to fund a Snap on tools dealership that never happened.
My lawn is great, its block paved ! I loved my 848 as well but got offered silly money for it against the Blade so let it go. Bet you'd need more than the 848 money to fund a Snap On franchise !
Great bikes. The only thing I am critical of on my blade is the riding position. I feel I am sat on top of it rather than sat in it like I do on a Ducati. I love being more over the front wheel, it sort of feels just right for me. Even with adjustable pegs I still feel too high and a bit removed from the front. Love twins, love the torque and love the rumble, damn I miss the Ducati.........that's your fault Ina for showing me those porn pics !
And the Ducati 899 is due to be announced next week apparently, oh well, will have to wait a couple of years !
If I'm honest, I'm not a fan of the look of the new ducati's. I loved the under seat exhaust too much.
Nice collection you've had there! I was tempted by the RC8 myself (although couldn't stretch to the RC8R) before getting the 'blade. How does it compare? Convince me I've made the right choice...
you too, thats exactly how I feel about the blade too...perched up on top and its harder on the wrists than a duke.used to be the other way around.
Not riden a duke but that's exactly why I like the blade, my r6 was about as on top of the bike and over the front and I swear it was the best handling bike I've riden... Don't get on with the sitting in position you say you get from the duke, guessing its similar to the gixxas which I don't like as it feels like the weight is too much in the middle / back of the bike which I find makes the front seem vague?? Guess its all down to the person ey.... Want to try a duke even more now though.... Just so I can feel for myself.
the position on the blade when I first rode it gave me little front end confidence when I had came from the duke.dont think you were perched up so high on the RR5's, or maybe its the peg/bar heights?
I'd say the blade is good but not amazing (until you get used to it and its awesome). Personally prefer the more aggressive position you get from the 08+ r6's, r1's (not riden big bang) and from only sitting on it the rsv4. But I ain't that tall so don't mind a less roomy ride lol
Rode Al's crossplane R1 and if I'm honest it is more plusher to ride than the blade. The only let down (if you can call it that) is the engine is almost out of place on it. Ie it isn't as refined as you would expect. I compare it to a V-Twin with its rough down low revs, and the fact that you need to ride it a gear lower than most bikes. Phantom I reckon you'd like it mate.
oh yeah the f4 too, how could I forget.can we not get someone to line them bikes up for us two to try....superbike mag, two readers group test or something lol
Ok in my line up for a test ride would be: MV F4 Ducati Panigale Aprilla RSV4 MV F3 800 Ducati Panigale 8?? Funny how they are all euro bikes and a bit "different"
On control tyres with an empty track, preferably in southern Spain. Lol Tried to sort a test ride out but only place near me is in south London, and only wanted to let me have the bike for an hour! I'd get about 8 miles in round there lol Told him I'd want it all morning as I want to ride the bloody thing, said I could have it all day!! For £140 ha ha... I politely declined.... Shame though, as I really want to ride one Said that if I did I'd have it all day but he'd be giving it back to me if I bought the bike, was cool with that but kinda couldn't be arsed and never got round to it tbh.
