So its day four and since I collected my Panigale and I am starting to sweat and it’s not just that it’s been 28 degrees in the Fens.

My new Pani is cutting out, pull the clutch in, down change and bang engine cuts out, it did it a couple of times yesterday and I thought ‘oh it’s just me’ but this evening it did the same thing, this time approaching a fast bend I know well, I set up for the bend, pulled clutch in, down shift to second, and…….engine off, scared the shit out me, ran wide and up the grass verge, almost going into the hedgerow. I called the dealer on his mobile phone and was asked if I was out of fuel…No…..I told him in no uncertain terms if it does it again they can come and fetch it. I am not prepared to drive it back to them. I am working at home tomorrow so if work/ weather allows I will give it another go but not I am not ahappy bunny, other than that I love it and sure it just something simple that can be quickly fixed.
I hate to add that I have never had any issues like this with all of my previous Fireblades.

Not uncommon in running in mate, not sure what the deal is with TPS but it's not the same as old with the fly by wire throttle, I'd get it checked at the dealer, ask them to check TPS, Idle and AFR then get the brake in over and serviced up. Like I say on the other forum Id beware of stories on the net as they can be misleading and put doubt in your mind, all will be well I'm sure.

Jesus mate you were lucky to save it , that would have been awful news to hear. A guy with less experience may have fared much worse mate.I'm sure it is something what Art has pointed to or maybe a connector not fully clicked in on a sensor somewhere. Lets hope it is just a small glitch on such a great bike.Let us know what it was.

It will be fixed - it's just getting your trust back in the bike and the dealer being able to say 'we replicated fault, traced it to xyz and it's solved'

It's just annoying after near faultless blade experience.

i road tested an 1100 hypermotard a couple of years ago. i stalled it 3 times getting off the fore court and several times when coming up to junctions , even with the clutch pulled in and coasting.
the bike only had 27 miles on it ,and the dealer said it was just because the engine was brand new and not had chance to free off yet.

If you lose confidence in your bike it takes all the enjoyment away, I'm sure it will be something simple David then your confidence in the bike will return I'm sure, let me know when your out and about and I'll meet you for a brew and a look.

it happened twice to my 848 at less than 100 miles, i took it back and they gave it a good going over, but never found anything, it never happened again though.

Just been reading about your experience, and the shine that's been taken away from your new toy.
I feel gutted for you that you probably now feel that maybe you should have stuck to what you know best.
I have hankered after another Ducati and the Panni was on my list but reading your comments has really put me off one.

Don’t let this put you off, it’s a fantastic bike that just needs a bit of fine adjustment which is not altogether unexpected, if still and bit disappointing, given the technology.
It will be fine and as I have already said, I love it.

Well my red dragon never missed a beat today, was mostly well behaved until I encouraged it to be naughty, and boy can it be naughty, I can’t wait to see what happens when I take the wriggle on needle past 6500 after its first service. I am told it’s akin to holding onto a wasp that’s just been kicked in the balls.

Arthur, I know exactly where my money went. Without even running it in its earning far more interest than ever it was in the bank, if the crowd round it today is anything to go by, although Carl was insistent they were looking over the top of mine at his Repsol Blade.

Think these BIG FAT pistons may have something to do with it, oh and the have SUCH a short stroke, they make blade pistons look like lawn mower internals.....lol
