. Should have got GaryB to pack your bags as he has been practicing all year .I don't think he will sleep tonight in case the Fox puts a tail on him ...lol
Dont forget - loads of photos, - add detail to show where you / your bike is in background - also pics of it loaded on deck etc. These are needed for the transitional shots which go between sequence (sequence being you doing stuff / on bike on road etc.)
Jason, you can see now why I said 'Man up and ride to Portsmouth' School boy error with waterproofs lol I ordered waterproof overboots and over gloves today - just so it does not rain!
Update from Gary: Just thought I'd try a status update. Not sure where I am 'Stella/wine combination perhaps' Starting to get a few waves now. Fortunately not nausea. We swerved the cinema for the magician. Just wish he would disappear now. Jason has boarded the pride of Bilbao :their god help them: he's on catch up as I type. Safe to say though the Panzer Weill still be a good 8hrs behind. Heading to Potes for Monday night. Then a loop for the three of us around the Picos De Europa. With a second night at Potes. Hit the road to San Sebastien. And then to the holy grail. We just need a spot tracker on them now - its like a Panzer movement for those 3, with a further RVP next Saturday!
Well checked in to my 4 berth cabin (yeah right)if there was 3 other blokes in that cabin with gear there would be a man over board,it was the only ones they had left I would love to see the smaller ones.it is 2 x2 bunk beds so my leathers have a bunk to themselves and my gear on the others . Got a nice on suite with a nice shower so I have refreshed and now sat in the bar with a beer in my hand with free wifi. I think the average age on board is 90 so no eye candy for the trip but then again once me and Mr Stella have got to know each other who knows. Don't worry Al with start taking pics,
Forums come to life. Seems the silver surfers have now started to leave the night to us young uns Had a fantastic day so far, I've only ridden 43 miles too. Blade is rather luggaged up? But the 50 ltrs of Kriega seem to gel well and tbh. Didn't notice it there. Well, until I tried to brake Such a warm welcome from our Kpone today 'nice pyjamas' You seen the pictures! We was well out of the time schedule but despite K only knowing one 9.30 on a Sunday we was still welcomed with open arms. We start in full earnest tomorrow dinner. We have a good couple of routes around the Picos.
Alright Gaz was that your Dingy we just passed , has the fox got his pants round his ankles yet ?? For those that don't know the more Steve drinks the less clothes he keeps on, don't worry I will defo get pics of that.:
Get me of this boat Ok the novity has worn off now been on 24 hours seen some dolphins that was good but I am fed up with the blue rinse brigade now,I have been practising my French Un beer please mon sir thenk yo . I find if you put a foreign accent on when speaking English everyone understands you. Can't wait till the morning so I can finally ride my bike .
Jason, That is the reason in the past never taken the slow boat to China (ok Bilbao).... Think the shorter 24 hour one with a group is OK , but the 36 hour one on your own must be tiresome. I've just got my Thursday night crossing booked - 22:45 sailing, arrive 07:30 to Caen, then I'm staying in Les Cabannes near Andorra Friday night with friends from previous trips. I'll find out where you guys are Friday evening and we can set a meet up point for Saturday somewhere. Here is the status now: Alblade: Working on Nortel to Cisco telephony migration in Manchester till Thursday afternoon
Evening Dudes, just catching up whilst FB is snoring his arse off, in Potes as of now, ill update this thread, as I can, some what a short days ride today, but a good selection of roads, managed some video too, no great shakes, but gives an idea of what we are seeing/doing
Hey Jason, Your bingo and hokey cokey skills must have come on leaps n bounds on this trip have they not? Also you must have a decent pocket full of wurthers originals for the rest of the trip by now too!
Maybe Jason should have come with the boys on Sunday if he's of the Werthers generation. I tried really hard to show the Gaz and the Fox that they weren't in the sticks. Showed them the electric comes right into the house and a toilet with water in it, real 20th century stuff. Then, as they were strapping their furniture on, a steam train ran right passed the house... "Honest lads, it's an excursion, they run every Sunday." Then, another one went by... They were desperate by then to get out of the '50's...
Well, here's a lesson for anyone who tries this European touring lark without putting at least a little bit of effort into planning beforehand.........Just got a phone call from Jason saying he's arrived in Bilbao and want's to know which way he should be heading as he has no maps, sat nav, it's pissing down AND HE HAS TO RIDE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD! Sun's shining here and it's 24 degrees! He's about 200km from us so not really sure what time to expect him What a fabulous place this Picos de Europa is! Loads of history here in Potes along with fantastic views and awesome roads. Out for a steak last night, Foie Gras to start and an expensive bottle of Rioja to wash it down. Think Gary was slightly overwhelmed by it all actually as I had to explain what Foie Gras was and, no he couldn't have a pint of Stella with it! Hotel's awesome too, great view from the window onto the mountainside and all for 62.75 euros for a twin per night! Well I'd better go keep a lookout for Jase, he should be arriving shortly assuming he hasn't taken the route via Madrid!
