For the first time since I've had my bike it felt like s**t tonight :D,

Every stone felt like we were riding over a rock ,

Every bump / patchy Tarmac . felt like riding over a open

Manhole cover , even my wife said that didn't feel right ,

Just hope it was one them nights , anyone else ever have them ,

When it just don't feel right ?

Have you checked the tyre pressures Steve?

Was wife on the back? Suspension could be bottoming out with no more travel left to soak up the bumps.

Is it as cold where you are tonight as it is here? if so it could be the oil in the forks and shock is cold and therefore thicker making the suspension feel harder??

How much tread have you got left on your tyres? I could feel every bump on my old tyres for nearly the last 500 miles when got them changed was good again

It's not really cold around 12/10", when we were out ,

Colder Sunday in the rain , but Sunday felt much better ,

Maybe suspension needs setting up properly ,

I think logic has to be considered here .The suspension has been ok from day one and unless tampered with ,so by rights should be sound .I confirm that Mrs B ( Angie) has not put on any weight since Sunday so that's a double plus ;)for you. Stuart has a point about it being a bit colder but the bike would have been warm after the Chippy visit so that's a little doubtful although in the past "towards winter" I have got the bike out of the garage and it felt like it was made of wood! Check the chain for slack and also the back wheel for alignment ect .These basic steps would put some possibles to bed .Next step go out on your own on your favourite bit of road with no bumps and relax and see how it flows .

Every now and then I get a ride like that. I think it is just one of those 'frame of mind' things. I do the same as you, check everything before I go out and know everything is how it should be. Then when I am riding it feels wrong, nothing feels comfortable and nothing flows. In my case tiredness plays a part, if I get some bike time I use it even if I feel shattered, some times the ride regenerates , other times I can't wait to get home. It happens rarely, but it does happen. Chances are next time you go out it will feel great again.........or perhaps you are subconsciously wanting a new bike lol........I have convinced myself in the past that I have outgrown my bike and need a new one.

I used to give in to it, but now I just do another mod and then I am happy again....for a while.

Hope it feels great next ride, I am sure it will.

Mike and Nige are right, Steve. Like I said on the phone last night, my bike just didn't want to know on Wednesday night. It was like dragging a dog around the field in the rain. It was setting up for corners wrong, refusing to accelerate just when I wanted to, it was acting like a super tanker when I was trying to back it into a tight parking spot, it baulked at driving through the fog. It really didn't want to go out at all...

Of course, I, on the other hand, was at the top of my game, picking my apexes perfectly, choosing exactly the right gear for every overtake and giving myself plenty of low speed, restricted manoeuvring space...

Some days you get the bear, some day the bear gets you...

Defiantly had that feeling before, every once in a blue moon the bike never quite feels the same, that same old familiar bit of road just doesn't have the same feel that day.

You make a bit of a hash with a overtake or maybe just take a different line into a corner than you normally would all these little things add up and the ride just doesn't feel like it should.

Then the next day having changed nothing you go out and everything is back to normal

Well I have just been out for a little blast , on my own no pillion ,

And it's definitely the front end , every bump felt like being hit with concrete ,

    My wrists are killing ,

Don't discount the rear end as a faulty damper here will affect the whole dynamics of the bike often making it feel like the front end, after all you are more likely to feel it through your arms than your squidgy arse on a soft seat.
