Anyone wear one on the road?

I never used to ride without one but when I got my Dainese 2 piece a couple of years ago I couldn't get it underneath so just stopped.

Was just curious to know if anyone actually bothered for road riding.

I got a slip in one free with my Dianese jacket which I keep in there as a matter of course. I went out without it once and it felt quite uncomfortable. As if something was missing, so back in it went. Don't know how well I'd get on with a harnessed one. Being an FB I suspect it would be uncomfortable, who knows. The way I look at it is, I don't notice it when I'm riding and it might, just might, make the difference.

I use the Dainese wave which isn't too big but also don't wear it off track enough and Jimbo is right, that is where you really need one not so much sliding along smooth tarmac at a track.

I think if you've bought a suit without making allowance to fit one then they usually are mostly uncomfortably and cause a squeeze in your leathers....

I was taught to always wear protection but why does it feel so good without?!? :D

I think it's a case of finding the right one, mate. And having the leathers to fit it under. Mind you, riding along uncomfortable is an unwanted distraction and could also be dangerous in itself.

    Those were the days...

I've put on a bit since then and I don't have as much hair, and there's no way I could eat a whole baby anymore...

Well it will help a little with the bruises fella but not if you whack your back into something like a sign, I had looked at this but then realised that for proper protection you need the vertebrae protectors which can take a proper hard whack which they couldn't at all....

Knox - world leaders in back protectors, chest protectors, shoulder, arm, knee and shin protection

This one would do twice the job and is similar in design to my wave.

I think you just wanna pose in that vest showing off your guns..... ;)

I've got a Knox Ricochet at the moment. Had it for quite a while.

See, that's a piece of sculpted science, that. I'd want to wear it over my leather to show it off.

Yes i do agree with you Rich, Don't get me wrong i am a complete believer of maximising my chances of survival should the unthinkable ever happen.

Just sometimes by the time i have poured myself into my leathers, boots on, chains and locks off the bike fighting with my t-shirt that's rode up my back, pulling my shorts out my arse that my trusty old leathers have decided to shove their 20-25 mins have gone by and i could of been halfway to my destination ;)
