I've just spent the last hour or so with a few beers listening to ACDC live on youtube and its made me think, whaattttt the fuccckkk has gone wrong!!? Now you just get computer generated WANK. I hope its just a phase and at some point we go back to some good old rock n roll made with REAL instruments. Hope you guys agree... Music is one of my other massive passions and I have been playing sax now semi professionally for about 20 years. The current band I am in does covers of stuff from the 60's to the 90s and music was music then, proper talented stuff, not some bunch of fags put on stage and manufactured into some record selling machine. Total toss it is nowadays.
Dude if you can play sax that is FUCKING COOL man. I played drums till I was 16 then found other pursuits as you do.. Been playin guitar 2 years now and fuckin love it!! Gonna open another can of worms now and say best rock singer of all time? Sorry guys but for me it has to be steve tyler, almost as good a front man as freddy mercury IMO
Give it a year or so and people won't remember One Direction or the like. They will just be a distant memory of a bunch of twits who couldn't sing, but were manufactured to line the pockets of their managers. Can one of them play an instrument? Could they sing anything by Pink Floyd (doubt it as they probably haven't even heard of them), Queen, Led Zeppelin or any other great band? Drives me proper mad it does!
i love playing the sax, had some awesome times in bands over the years and met some proper legends too. It's another thing I will do for as long as I possibly can. Just like racing, it is up there with the best things in life for me. As for greatest rock singer, Steve Tyler is epic, as is good old Brian Johnson, but Freddy Mercury was something else again. He was a classically trained opera singer if I am not much mistaken.
Yeah tbf FM was an absolute beast. I wish I had time for guitar lessons cos Im not bad I can pick up solos really fast, play in a band with my dad and a few other lads (all work for nestle) its nothing serious but its such a laugh!!
As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters. You are doing something that a lot of people only dream about, so stick at it.
