    Hi guys

So I have posted a few threads in the last few weeks (engine light faults and what not). All have been resolved fortunately....dam fuses!

So I have this bizar box with 3 cables coming out of it under the pillion seat (obviously was there when I purchased the bike. It has no branding on it or anything!

Does anyone know what the hell this is?

    Pictures attached

Looks like half an alarm, the rest that clips on the front is missing! Some were made in two parts as so if failed the main unit could be replaced without rewireing. IF all the input wires are black it will confim it.

Unlikely to be a printer port, its a RS232 serial interface.
There things have not been used for years, replaced by 9 pin or USB connector so could be some home made bodge box, only way to find out is to look at where the other wires go to. At least now you have something to do this weekend ;)

Be sure to post more pics.:D

I was kidding...lol Trust me 99% sure it's half an alarm and the wires are all black or same colour most older alarms where produced like that as they failed so often. Lots of different apps for 25 pin DIL D type connectors ;) and they often did not print name etc on the alarm for ob reasons. I won't comment on how to bypass them.

Well IF it is an alarm or rather part of and I say so as I have seen them much like that before I'd guess the new installer figured its a running bike just splice in the new alarm and get going...

Does it have a bundle of single coloured wires?

It's an interface for a flux capacitor. Plug one in and by the time you reach 90mph you'll be in 1958 :)

It's getting silly now isn't it?
