Id be tempted at a radial rear Brembo caliper like they have been running on the RCV!

Unless the rear brake light is disconected I cant see how this would confuse anyone and if it is be prepared to be mounted from the rear by a Volvo that thinks its a horny dog !

On subject the rear is poor on the Blade, I added braided Hel lines, expensive race fluid and Brembo pads, all for nothing in the end, it was still p!ss poor.

Like arthur said you need to change the caliper to improve things, Nutty changed her 08+ rear setup a while back which was an improvement but it was pricey as I remember.

Rear brake?? I thought they were purely for aesthetics?? The one on my old Tuono was used as a foot rest :)

Weren't we all taught in our test to use the back brake more when in the wet? Agreed with the slow riding but it's most usefulness is when it's raining but then what do I know as my bike is locked up in the dry whenever that happens ;)

I tend to use the rear brake as I'm approaching a corner, or generally slowing down - but only as "trim" to compliment the front brake. I guess I'm like a manual C-ABS.

Cause he usually has his hands in the air when he's using it...

I was... But that was on a Honda XR200... Not exactly a fireblade... Most of the weight at the rear helped the back brake actually work too...

Mine is held together with cable ties - it was a bit pants before, don't use it now but was handy heading into tight downhill hairpins
