This will make ya larf, i was taking off the rear hugger, so i cud give it a clean after the w.ends fun and games, now as sum of u may now, i have a racefit growler exhaust and whilst taking off the bolt, the bugger slipped and has gone striaght down into the exhaust, now am guessing i can ger one of those extendable magnets and poke it in and pull it out??? or wud i have to take the can off, bearing in mind i cant hold onto a bloomin bolt
see how the magnet goes first otherwise its can off and a good shake to get bolt out. It's a pain in the arse when things like that happen.
cheers Glynn i take it, its mot a good idea to start the bike and " fire it out " with a bit of revving?? :S
Your exhaust aint a Cork Gun! No amount of frantic Revving will 'Fire out' a loose bolt or nut. Buy/Borrow one of these and have a prod about, or failing that it's Zorst off time. Magnetic Pick Up Tool 630mm | Screwfix.com
I dropped the baffle bolt between the skins of my Akrapovic, I was feeling all smug as I got my extendable magnet on a stick thingy out only to find that the bolt wasn't magnetic....arse. Had to use a blob of grease in socket to get it.
I'd have just gone for the start and rev solution, lol. Just make the sure the mrs is standing behind the bike.
Stainless steel bolt...............no chance but if it's a cheap jobbie then it'll have loads of crap metal mixed so should just about stick to your magnet.
