I love the look of the BMW and I tried to buy one before buying the Blade but the difference in the price to change between the two was about £5k difference !!!!!! That was for the normal S1000RR as well not the HP4. A guy I know worked at a BMW bike dealers for a week, he left a Honda dealer then realised how good it was compared to working for BMW. He was on about the service prices that were ridiculous and that they had to charge for every tiny item used. They would never let them repair a part they just fitted new bits then billed the customer ! John at Hunts also told me that there was no major change planned just a slight power increase and maybe a couple of rider aids, no total overhaul though.
It's like buying a new Mobile Phone! Do I? Don't I? There'll always be a better model up & coming 10 mins after you've signed for your current model! Thing you need to ask yer sen is do I like it, and does it do what I need right now over the current opposition? If Yes, then buy the fecker and enjoy!
Ok then this is where we are , the BMW dealer is shut on Mondays ( WTF ) can't believe it , So when the fella gets to work he'll have my email , and hopefully he will get in touch , I've too made a few phone calls to honda dealers and they both say the same no major difference at all , just a few tweeks here and there , that it , Now the BMW I like very much indeed , I also like my blade , but I would like something different , if all goes to plan and they come up with what I want , not them ME , and my insurance is not too much difference then the deal will be done , 4 years ago I was in hospital fighting for my life , which turned into a 3 year battle , Like everyone on here says you only live once , if I make a mistake and a better honda , Yamaha , Suzuki , kwak , comes along then so be it , but at least I'll have the bike I really want ,
know wot ya mean, last yr i was in hospital, knocking on deaths door at the grand old age of 38 few things i def realised : Dont give a shit about wot people think, its just words andf next week they will be slagging off someone else The Mrs is awesome n do wot makes you happy, very happy!!!
Only downer is the S1000RR UK Forum is absolute pap with quite a few Bell ends (note few not all they know who they are..) so I still come on here for the community great bunch lots of homos tho.
+1 on the bmw forum I don't like it and don't plan to visit it anytime soon I joined it to sell an Akro exhaust I had of my bmw well that's sold now so you lot will have to put up with me .
I agree buy what bike you like now, you will get some great deals on 2013 bikes and why not!! However I wouldn't buy in to what the Honda dealers are saying, they want to shift the 2013 models for a much ££ as possible, they are hardly going to say theres a completely different bike coming next year.. If this bike has more power and some rider aids sounds like its a new bike to me... Dont see them adding rider aids to the current bike as it just doesnt need them..
I had the same impression on my test ride in July, but the deal wasn't as good as yours. I got two similar offers. One from BMW Oxford and the other from BMW Bahnstormer Maidenhead. I probably would go for it if they would offer me 8300 GBP plus the Akra !
I've not heard anything from Honda with regards to any major updates well any updates at all to next years Blade. I think if Honda where to be planning some major changes or even minor ones the press and dealers would be full of rumor and gossip. It's not Honda's style to radically change anything on a current model they would prefer to introduce new technology on new models, perhaps like the rumored road going RC213V, then perhaps some of those features may filter down to the Blade eventually. I think if anyone is waiting for a 'new' Blade they will be disappointed, hope I'm wrong though they need one.
I was told by dealer that there is no new 2014 Blade, just new colours was offered a 2013 Repsol on 0% which I would love but not prepared to have my pants pulled down on my 5 month old CB1K !! so looks like I will have to wait
Surely the original FireBlade came out of the blue, as I believe so did the R1. Maybe there is something special around the corner, if I was buying another honda I'd wait for the 2014 model anything else, given the cracking deals about I would be tempted to swap.
