i tried the new ducati hyperstrada the other week ,as a twisty b road blaster it was great , 110 bhp which is more than the outgoing 1100 hypermotard which only has 90 bhp. only thing is they want £!0,500 for a new one. the old hypermotard 796 was £7000... now if the new one started out at that price i would be in like flynn.
Yes new 1199. But I was surprised. I am 6ft 2" and the blade is all day comfy. no stretching for the bars or bad wrists. from just sitting on the 1199 panigale IL would not spend £20 on it. looks lovely But my feet hardly touched the ground so tall, my ass was way up and the Bars very far and low away. So fun on track. No for the back or touring or doing from the looks of it more than 100 miles on it. Just hope the 899 is better. going to test ride the ducati multistrada but thats not the way I want to go bike wise just yet
It’s just a state of mind mate; I am no spring chicken and I don’t find my Pani 'that' uncomfortable. OK It’s a bit of a handful and heavy on the wrists in traffic but no more than I expected, but once you get going, wow, it’s really something else. The more I ride it the more I am starting to fall in love with its mannerisms. It’s a proper grown up motorcycle, all my blades have all been great but, I will get flamed for saying it are very bland by comparison, they do what it says on the tin very well but can be a bit unmemorable. The Pani by comparison is anything but unmemorable; every ride is a battering of all the senses and makes me laugh out loud, not that anyone could hear me over the Termi’s mind. I also don’t remember any other motorcycle I have ever owned that has set a parked car alarm off either. Parked in the garage it’s a work of art from any angle. The Panigale reminds me of my Spanish ex-wife, the first time I saw it I knew I had to have it; it’s full of passion and attitude, you know it could hurt you but you just want it all the more. I just hope it doesn’t become a nightmare to live with and ultimately cost me a fortune to get rid of. Do yourself a favour and take a test ride and I am sure you will understand what I mean.
Art, that’s the second time I have laughed at this today, and it’s just as funny the second time around.
