I'll agree with that, first r1 was by far the best looking. A guy who I work with has an 05 plate r1 and the front end looks too wide for the rest of the bike. Looks like a basking whales mouth, lol. I've had 2 of them and loved my last one with the Kenny Roberts paint job.
I often ride my sons 07 R1; in fact, we normally swap bikes at some point on every ride. I tend to get a bit lairy when I'm on the R1; its a bad influence. We recently fitted a decat link pipe which has greatly reduced how hot the legs can get in traffic.
Ok so maybe missed a few threads here and there recently but are you selling up Jimbo and what for? Not a sucky for real?? Also surprised you think the 04-08 R1 looks better than the 09+ I think the lens lights look much better than the encased headlamps and other than that it's really just colour differences?
not a sucky for real??? lost me there mate.... thinking about it... but prob wont bother till spring now.... and have no idea tbh, will be something a little different if i do change. just prefer it mate, each to there own, think the rear end on the new one is horrible (with stock cans) and im not sold on the new lights. that said, i dont dislike the new R1, but for me, that bike is more than just about looks, you'd have to really like the bike for the engine, noise etc and it's character to buy one.... personally, there are prob 5 other bikes id buy before i got a new R1.
Sucky aka Suzuki S1000rr or a RSV4 maybe like me to keep the blade company in the garage Yeah totally agree the standard pipes on the new bike look proper shite, my brother has the carbon akkra's so I keep forgetting how awful they can look
ahh right, god no, know folk that love them, great engines, personally think they are bland looking and i dont like the handling. but just my opinion of course. like the RSV4 mate, and now some real good real world money no miles 2nd hand ones about. must admit, i do think it'd be european next time. although not the BM.
Yeah the BM is sliding down the list by the day currently..... Are you referring to the factory version of the RSV?
i'd try them both mate, for me, not sure i'd get the benefit of the factory! but for the right money i wouldnt turn one down! ha ha although there are other bikes coming out / already out i'd want to try. think i'll be going test ride crazy come march time
My blade hits 30000 miles soon and I'm looking to upgrade, I do really like the BMW but will take an RSV4 out for a test ride and wait to see what 2014 has to offer. An RSV4 with the APRC package is well worth a punt.
