What's your opinions on the recent changes to benefits? I personally think its about time people realise there are consequences to sponging of the state for the rest of your pathetic life

About time! There shouldn't be 1 piece of litter, clump of weeds growing out of kerb or unfilled pot hole while these workshy bastards are drawing benefits.

As above, they should be given food and fuel vouchers. whilst on the doll they should have to do community service type work, painting parks and helping the local area so they are not sat on there arse getting smacked off their faces.
this would then give them work experience and a work ethic, if they don't show up then no benefits.
There should also be a timescale on the doll, for example in you life time you should have 24 months worth of doll money, once its gone that's it (within reason) this would then force people to get up off their arse and get a job.
Im a prison officer and im fed up of the same smackhead doll dossers coming in, most of them haven't done an honest days work
This country is to soft on benfits, crime punishment and immigration

As much as i hate these crazy foreigners coming here preaching hate and sponging of the state i hate these chav dossers even more who think because they have been brought up in a shitty area everyone owes em a livin!!! Bullshit.

    My two penneth-worth.

There aren't enough jobs to go around in this country. It's all very easy to say that people should get nothing if they don't work etc when YOU have a job but you have to think about the consequences of giving people nothing. If people genuinely get no support from the government or get only the kind of support that we want them to have (food vouchers and such) then you will have a bunch of people living a very miserable existence.

People who live very miserable existences frequently turn to drugs / crime etc because they feel that they have nothing to lose.

Also this idea of making people pick up litter and such for less than minimum wage basically amounts to little more than indentured servitude.

I know that those of us who work get annoyed and frustrated with those who seemingly lounge around getting money for nothing but I think that the reality of what they actually get is not quite so rosey as is painted in the Daily Mail. It's really not that nice a life.

Societies that work tend to be those where you have homogeneity. Be that social or income related. You only need to look around to see that the world's worst crime-ridden sh*tholes are those where you have a massive disparity between the haves and the have-nots. Taking care of people is the lesser of two evils. At least as far as I'm concerned.

Was swimming with my lad and a local MP Jonathon Shaw was swimming with his kids.He came past me where I commented that he must be J.Shaw.Yes he said do you vote Labour? I said I will vote in any gov't that sorts out this want something for nothing culture, make em work for their money like everybody else does.It will give them experience in different fields which could help them with a job.Job centres should be replaced with Work Centres everyone on the dole gets there at staggered times of the day 6 til 9 to go to work on minimum wage and earn the money he gets to stay in that flat with their family while they are looking for work.No work no benefits no paid for accomodation.
When I got made redundant 14 yrs ago all I got was milk tokens and had to fend for myself I had no money, debt creeping up and lived on beans on toast for 6 weeks.I didn't ask our parents for help cos I was too proud as a parent to deal with my own problem. When I found work I vowed to never be in that situation again.I now work for myself.

£26,000 cap on benefits brought in by the government.... i work shifts and do a hell of a lot of overtime (works out the equivalent of an extra week per month) and can not earn that much.yet i still have my own house, a car ,5 bikes and go to the tt every year .
did you see that documentary on tattoos the other day ? some dude on benefits with a car in his drive wasting all my tax money on tattoos.. it is supposed to be there as a get you by payment .. not a lifestyle payment
