Used my new Drift Ghost HD today for the last session only to find I'd forgot to flip the lens 90 degrees so I have a 20 min session at right angles! Can't see any options in Windows media player to rotate the Vid so can someone recommend (or a link would be ACE) for some FREE editing software for use with the Drift files? If not Free then I don't mind spending a few quid but nothing major though.
Just noticed I have Windows Movie Maker in my programe list so will try this first, just waiting for it to process the 30 min file.
Vegas is very good - still learning loads of new stuff - must only use about 10% of its features Ulead Video Studio is easier to get to grips with, and all proper editing suits will rotate footage in 2 clicks (so much so I often leave GoPro in one setting regardless of which way up the camera is and sort it later) Whatever you start to use be warned it takes ages to properly edit footage down, esp. when you start to add music, titles, transitions, set your changes to music etc. - but... when you get it right you have great reminder of event etc.
I know - picked up a few techniques already from youtube - esp on editing text Few things like adjusting sound levels of an overlay track I've not yet mastered, must be way to add pointers to the audio and apply fades etc. As you say its almost pro level of editing software
highlight the audio track, press "V" key and a blue line appears.double click on it to add anchor points then you can raise and lower the line to raise and lower the volume.
Thanks - have a wedding video to finish and need to drop the overlay track at a few points when people say a few works to camera - will have a play tomorrow night.
any other problems pm me. also handy to add the eq effect to the audio so you can tweak it for a nice clear voice, then add the smooth and enhance filter and you can add a slight bit of bass to give it that news reader tone .
