Fancy getting a quickshifter fitted on my 2013 after the first service has been done. heard a few stories about wear on the plates etc.. Anybody use one and have any advice. Probably going to get a hm plus standalone one but any info about what others use would be really appreciated

    Cheers boys :D

Toby LeRone is from HM, mate. Very approachable and a great asset to the forum. Arthur Bikemad is the capo di tute capi of all things installation and set up of the kit

I have the hm+ and love it but I have never tried anything else so I cant compare. The bazzaz system seems to get reviews, personally I wouldnt buy the dynojet shifter

Another HM convert - the best bit is that if you change your bike you just get alternative plug caps (if needed) so unlike a pipe or similar bit of bling once you have it there are many years use from it.

The HM is a top bit of quality MotoGP kit - OK while not 100% needed its addictive on the road - will post up a video of QS enabled get away on an empty dual road in France to give you an idea of change to bike

if you dont have a ignition module/pcv then a stand aline unit will be best, either a HM or cordona .(in fact these are better anyway then dynojets, and would be a lot cheaper than having to buy a bazzaz system etc..)

so yes,a stand alone unit would be best.

as ong as they are set up right they are fine regarding gearbox issues

Defo going to be Going for the Hm plus standalone one .. I've only had them on bms before. On my last s1000rr I had a Powercommander fitted to run with the Austin racing system but the gear shift assist failed.. It paused during quick up shifts then wheel span when the gear engaged. It was a bit hairy! Thanks for all the feedback. Much appreciated everyone

Hear most BMW owners who race change the standard qs for the hm one.

In some ways shame Honda UK could not test the hm one and offer it as dealer fit option to add some tech to the bike.

You usually use push or pull but not both.

Yep clutch down on QS, then going up use clutch for 1st and 2nd then QS for rest of gears .

I am also very happy with the QS on the BMW no plans for the need to change it as it's very smooth .

im sure arthur knows about this, but i seem to remember a while back a conversation about a triple output hm quickshifter that can shift up and down the box, i believe it is an upgrade that you can add to the hm unit and basically all it does is blip the throttle on the downshift

Don't forget a load of info here re shifters.

    HM Quickshifter

It is possible to downshift BUT you need a kit ECU that supports throttle blipper, then the shifter will send a blip the throttle request to the ECU for downshifts, the ultimate setup is Quickshifter up, blipper down and a nice slipper clutch.

(note shifter also requires blipper output)

HM is a great shifter far better and not to be confused with the likes of Ducati or BMW OEM shifters!! As said you can change looms on most of the HM range to fit other bikes too, the direction of shift is programmable and ideally needs to be set for the direction of up shift to prevent stalling when selecting N from 2nd some bikes mostly twins can stall if it kills the motor in both directions when selecting N at idle.

I'm always happy to help answer questions but do check out the HM section as most have been answered before. :)

Cheers fez, I was too slow...lol
