They do look quite a good bike, have you considered the triumph speed triple or even the ktm super duke 990 if you really want to have somefun
Does look fun, but make sure you can support the fitting of a power commander as i understand from the reviews that the fuelling is utter rubbish, but i don't think this is unique to this bike, it appears a by-product of the emissions laws coming from our EU buddies. Does look a good everyday bike though.
Thanks all but you are not helping me out here I was hoping you would talk me out of it!! If I pulled the trigger ( as the Americans say ) would I miss my blade then be back on one two months later losing £££ in the process?
Just see one come out of the dealers.... Wanted a good look round it but was on its way out. Must say looked very cool! Much better than the mag pics!!
Had a sit on one the other day and it felt like a glove. Very nice. If it feels right, it should be right. I only felt that the nose needed finishing off with a nose cone or fly screen cover like a speed triple. It did look like something was missing. At first look, that was all I'd do to it.
There you go ken. Sorted This is the colour I saw, looked fantastic tbh.... More aggressive than I thought the pics I've seen looked.... Very cool bike IMO
Yes it looks good. I like the MT01 as well, the idea of all that low rev torque without it being a cruiser...
I would ride it first and don't believe everything you read. In 'A' mode the throttle is very quick and responsive, that's all and something you would quickly get used to. 'Utter rubbish' I'm sorry is utter rubbish.
guy at the dealers said the diff from A to B modes was night and day (and A is exactly as what your saying Mr B) but also very good in terms of town riding and out of town riding he said the fueling wasnt as smooth as the street but wasnt bad either.... yes he works there, but I got the impression he was giving a fair account of it. but only way to find out - is for yourself!
See a demonstrator down P&H Sunday, looked the part aside from what Ken says, the nose needs something extra. I actually like it, but not sure I could get rid of the blade for one. Bizzare, but I just can't seem to get on with sit up bikes, had a Versys before the 929 for commuting and winter riding, couldn't stand it which is why I swapped it for th 929. Spent all day on the wife's monster Sunday, fcuk I still ache now. So would suggest to get a decent amount of time on the demo mate. Jimbo, what else can we demo this Sunday, reckon we can blag getting a bike each out from P&H at the same time?
Ur gonna miss having a fairing mate, as a second bike maybe but surely not as a Blade replacement. Gonna be alot of secondhand ones on the market quite quickly I think, mainly from peeps like you making the jump from sports for poorer weather.
Salesman "Excuse me Mr Jimbo, do you know this guy that turned up at the same time as you, lives close to you that has booked a test at the same time??" Jimbo "Of course not, never seen him before in my life!" Salesman "Well it's our policy not to do group test rides to idiots who have no intention of buying a bike!" Jimbo "Oh i know, don’t’ worry, your £15k bike will get treated with the upmost respect" Salesman "thank you" Jimbo "Mwah ha ha ha.........." I’m off to check out their demo bikes! lol
same weight as your blade and only 113bhp, you will miss your blade if you are used to opening her up keep the Blade mate now if you are thinking of tracking your blade and getting the Yam MT 09 as your road fun, then go for it... imho
