Yo everyone. When i drop my trackbike engine out today i wanna have a go at painting up the engine casings to refresh the look. What paint should i use and will they sell it at wilco motosave?
You beat me to it, but i was gonna suggest Smoothrite, the smooth version of Hammerite. Works on brake calipers, so is very good for high temp stuff.
There are people painting exhaust tail pipes with no issue... It's 7 quid for a can and you remove it like vinyl if it does start to fail
A mate sent me a link to it last week which was first I had heard of it, looks pretty good and if heat proof too even better
I've got a set of winter wheels for my car... There about to be done so I'll let you know after winter how hard wearing it is!
Yea please do as it looks good and peels off really cleanly once done but then that's one bit that concerned me is how easy it came off when they started it
With my bike having some broken bits I'm in two minds as to what to do... There is a company that has a full 2013 conversion kit including headlight for about £500. Now it is a Chinese mob but they have stock held in the UK and US. They have fair reviews on the US version of this site But plan B is to buy the new bits and plastic dip the whole bike in matt white... Maybe add some pearliser over the top I'm about to but a starter kit which consists of a converted sprayer a few other bits and enough plasti-dip to do a small car From what I have found out that once you get a good coating on and it's given a couple of hours to dry it's just as hard wearing as paint. If it's not layer on thick enough or not fully cured it won't peel when you try to peel it back the dip will just keep tearing. It does peel easy once it's started but it's getting it started that is difficult...
