Right had a Mate call me this morning asking if I wanted to go out on the bike for a blat.

Said how about you pop up and we go out in my kit car.

I know the roads to Abergavenny well on the bike or car. So Mate arrived then we left. 45 miles there. 45 back. Not 1 biker over took me. Bare in mind it was nice and very popular with bikers, well the roads I was using. But I overtook 5-6 bikers.

Only saying this as I've never taken much notice how fun my Kit cat was when keeping up/catching up with bikers on these roads in the past ;)

Saw a Seven at Willingham Woods today. I'd love a go in one.

Remal, Got to say those blue and yellow bikes just do not do it for me, such horrid colours and they seem to get everywhere, especially when you wish they weren't around.

They did seem to be riding like miss Daisy. I will say i am quick on the same road on the bike BUT I was making up a lot of time on the corners ;) when catching the bikes up

Well maybe those bikers should get their knee down and put some power down on those bends ;) and then power to weight blow you away on the straights :)

If you have never followed or Been behind a lightweight kit car on the twistys then you will see what I'm on about. having been both sides there is not much else for the money that can keep up a good pace with bikes

Yeah a little Caterham would destroy a bike through the twisties on most days, I eman who really wants to catch up on the straights.....

What lump have you got under the hood Remal? A friend had a cossie unit and that was disturbing to say the least :D

It's a brand new crated 2Ltr Zetec. Dyno results was 145BHP at the rear wheels with a standard engine just running Twin 45's

But weighting only 650KG with a full tank of fuel it's enough for now

I have some mega footage of my mates R1 powered Westy chasing us across Lincolnshire sadly I would be a fool to post it on here needless to say he gets destroyed in every way. It's pretty rapid upto 100 then it's game over.

You're dead right fella they are weapons too.
I'd luv a westie, caterham or even a robin hood to play around with.I know these things move with bike engines in them.
For you doubters an average Caterham can lap Brands in under a minute with standard road tyres, with slicks they can go well under 54s. That is average fast bike times.
We have in Sittingbourne a 180 bhp stripped out MG Metro that is crazy fast.A late Gt2 911 couldn't get anywhere near him at Lakeside.Sub 11secs at Santa pod (first time there)without the mods he has today.
    Nuff respect for em.

I think cars really smash bikes in corners and they don't need to be that well sorted to do it either with 4 wheels to grip with. My 320bhp Audi S3 would not be beaten on twisties by bikes and they tried for a few years in a row ;)

i can honestly say in all my years of riding bikes, i've never had a car keep up and certainly not overtake me on the twisties.

Maybe they wasnt trying.... but i normally am ;)

that said - tbh car bating isnt something i normally indulge in though - try to stay as far away from them as possible lol

Jimbo I am an ex fast car driver that has recently switched to two wheels. Not sure where you are riding but I'll happily bring a car along to show the corner speed difference. I would say a car can easily hold up to 20mph more speed through the corner and can also enter at a much higher rate too.

That is without getting into a little Caterham which, if the driver has the balls and skill, will be even faster against a bike ;)

not denying you are prob right mate. but a bike accelerates soooo much quicker, and will out brake a car by miles....

i'm a current crap car driver (i really am) so prob comparing my ability with that of mine on two wheels, which on the road mate isnt too bad tbh. all i'm saying is i cant remember ever been left by a car, or had one up my chuff through a set of bends.

i'd happily take a demonstration though mate sometime.

ps - what if the bike has balls and skills to match!? lol ;)

I'm leaving out the story of me destroying a AM V12 vanquish at the weekend on twisties near mine as I didn't think it would help my argument at all..... :D
