I know nothing about this, still being quite new to bikes, but i do know it can make a massive difference, and i want the bike to be 'mine' if you know what i mean. I've never ridden a bike thats had the bike set up specifically for me, and this is going to be my next job i think. Does anyone know somewhere local ish to me (Dartford, kent) dont mind Essex, kent, not so keen on london, i'm better letting lewis do that. Roughly how much does it cost? and what sort of differences does it make to the bike once set up? thankyou for any help here
Call in your local bike shop , they will point you in the right direction You can spend from 50 quid having your settings tweaked to a few hundred having new springs , revalves etc or go all out and buy a set of performance forks . K-Tech do a nice set of forks for 3.5 grand
Hi Mel give Brian a shout Contact Us « BN Race Science He is a top man, helped me out with my gsxr 750 when i had it. Also its not in deepest darkest London either although a little trek around the M25 and 1 junction up the M3. I know he gets upto Brands a fair bit as well so he may be able to meet you there and sort the bike for you
this might be the suspension guru known as B on londonbikers (my original home forum) ... I'll look in to it, if its him he's like god with suspension apparently.
He is good and yes he is well known by many on the LB forum and comes recommended on gixerjunkies as well
Had mine set up by Steve Jordan, near Dorking. Highly recommended by a lot of riders. Was about £100 to £150.
Mel, don't tweak yourself, will end up a horrible mess!! My pal mike owes md racing, he is a pure genius and made my awesome blade into something quite special. Ducati specialist who is a reg bsb consultant and last year was working on stoners bike!! But does anything you ride... £50 quid to mates and he is in Surrey. Best 50 quid I ever spent.
Steve Jordan is a c*nt IMO!! Fucked up two of my pals bikes, and service was poor. Of course, sure he's great 90% of the time...
In what way did he mess their bikes up? I thought he was very highly spoken of especially on the junkies forum
One mate has bought two thous from him, both times after first service f1 light has come on, after numerous visits they tell him they don't know what's wrong, and do another service and the same problem, yet apparently it's a valve check on the exhaust system which is standard service procedure on a gixxa! Other mate had numerous issues whith his electrics after they worked on his bike, they didn't want to know, but resulted in his bike loosing the dash and lights every time it rained! In the end, one afternoon on way home from work it happened again, so he rode it straight there and went mental to which they finally looked at the bike and realised it was a technician fault all along! Poor poor quality of work and service IMO
Me two!! As I thought and heard they were fantastic, but only two pals I know who have bought from him have been left so frustrated and undervalued it's unreal! Sometimes the once family business gets too big for that kind of service which makes them so good in the first place??
Another vote for Brian, he did my Gixer 750 a while back, well worth the very small outlay and the trip. Btw mate, I'm just down the road from you so if you fancy a run up to see Brian let me know. I'm gonna get my Blade done. JD
I'd heard good things about him on Junkies so booked to have him do my suspension. Fair old trek to get there and the tosser wasn't there, he'd gone off to France. Really pi**ed me off. JD
