whats the big difference bewteen the 2 types of blades? any engine, BHP, torque differences? Might be able to pick up a 2013 blade for the track and wanted to see what the difference is? do the older type blades wheels fit in the 2013 ones? seems 2012/13 wheels are as hard to find as hens teeth and what things would be straight bolt over??? rearsets? clip-ons, exhaust systems......
Everything is the same apart from bodywork, headlights and front wiring.BHP difference is minimal just smoother pick up on the 13 blade.Personally I do like the 13 bodywork but would not spend 3-4k on changing my bike for one though.
so I'd be paying extra for the nicer wheels and the nicer clocks, for the rest everything is basically the same? but I'd be getting a newer bike with less km than the older one cheers
Suspension is different too, it's better but not £4k better ! There are still a few low mileage 08-11 plate bikes around if you look on Ebay / Biketrader. I want a newer model in the spring but I'm only buying one as the mileage on my current bike is getting quite high, otherwise I wouldn't bother as the differences are minor. More second hand bits around for the older bikes too, that might help you out in the long run if you're at the track a lot !
2012 and 2013 blades are exactly the same it is only a colour change. 2011 and 2012 blades are different as follows. Wheels are different design Bodywork is different shape Headlights, different shape to fit bodywork Front forks are Showa big piston type Rear shock is a Showa unit and different to 2011 Dash is fully electronic and there is no needle type (analogue) rev counter. I also believe the ECU is different and has a different fuelling map. I think that is it and I haven't missed anything. Having owned a 2010 and now a 2012 the difference in suspension is like night and day, 2012 is far better.
If you are buying for Track use the MY12-13 Dash has a built in Lap Timer display. You can also switch to Kilometers per hour if traveling abroad etc If buying for Track use then search out a MY12 model as the MY13 is just a diff paint job but will cost ya more
If you don't want ABS then don't buy a Bike with it fitted. It's not a simple case of just switching it off, in fact you can't bypass it unless you start pulling fuses etc and then it only stops the various modulators working of which there are at least 4. The Bike will never feel or stop as well as a Non-ABS Bike with the system bypassed.

So I ordered last week and my fairing kit has arrived! Its the IOM TT Colours! It looks good, the plastics look well made, the paint on the good side looks superb! Only had a few bits out the box but will give a report as i go! (will be after Christmas!!)
I've had fairings from aucmarts before on my 07 blade, porbably the best fairings for the money they charge, painting was good, stickering also, fitment was decent, not the best, but I've had racefairings that fitted worse…. get them one your bike and put some pics up!
