Had a hard week this week, work, decorating and a d*head who tried to drive me off the road when I had my 8 yr old daughter in the car and then told me it was my own fault ! It did not end well as some might imagine, but can't discuss it on here, but suffice to say I was more than a little lucky about the outcome, thanks to a very nice Policeman.

So today was de-stress time on the Blade, great ride on my favourite route, lots of traffic but able to make steady progress ;) Even managed not to get too annoyed when a pratt in a range rover tried to cut me up whilst I was close to max lean whilst exiting a roundabout........I can be good....sometimes.

Always amazed at how good the bike is, so quick,so smooth, so nimble and so much fun to ride. I love the way it handles even when given some vigorous right wrist action.........on the throttle you pervs.

Had a cracking ride out with a good mate who has an immaculate GSXR1000 K4 (owned from new -standard!) we went from Sunny Spalding to Colsterworth - lovely day -great roads - plenty of traffic but it made 'making progress' alot of fun. ;)

Just come in from a blat with a mate Kev who has finally bought a bike after 5yrs away from them.Unfortunately he has bought a gixxer k7 kevin swantz lucky strike replica.A proper minter too.I really took to it cos I'm a fan of Kevin Swantz anyway. He said he had to have it cos its got his name is on it:rolleyes:
So we headed out towards Maidstone to pick up some bits for my missus then we had a blat around the town and through different dual carriageways through Medway etc.You could see the poor sod was rusty with his bike/body positioning as well as filtering very gingerly and leaving his indicator on.So I let him take us home at his pace. When we stopped he had a huge grin and said why the f*ck did I stop riding bikes.Another comment he made at the end as I was pulling away was I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A FIREBLADE, THEY'RE QUICKER.No comment from me cos I already know.;)

    Drove to Aberdeen.
Weather was lovely up there and wished I had taken the bike.
At least I got home early though, as 6 hours driving takes its toll.
Wife did take my bike out for a wee blast though, but only as far as Strathaven.
    Cheeky monkey.

Rode the blade to work in the lovely bright sunshine that covered Yorkshire this morning, first time on her since returning from wet miserable European trip as I've had a fortnight on holiday. Got to work with big smile on face.

    Went into work, smile disappeared.

Rode home, still bright, smile back.

Went out in the rain. I hate riding in the rain. I hated riding in the rain back in the day when I didn't have the choice and 100 bhp less and I hate the idea even more now that I don't need to and I've got 100 bhp more.

But, I needed to get across the city in a hurry and I knew if I took the car I'd still be there now and I've taken stick on here for not doing it and I took stick from the police instructor on the BikeSafe day for not doing it so I thought 'Buggerit!'

Oh how the memories flooded back. The smell of wet leather and soggy lid lining, the eye stinging pissedoffedness of the whole thing, coupled with new sensations such as the tyres tracking Tarmac patches and channels. Don't remember that happening with my old bikes, but, after a while, I started getting in the groove and started laughing to myself when nods back from other bikers turned into shrugs and V signs at the sky. One bloke pulled up beside me at some lights looked over and said 'Makes you f*****g sick, don't it'.

Cagers really don't like you filtering in the wet either, do they....

I started to get really chilled out and started putting some serious angles on the bends, knee almost touching in places, I'm sure. So imagine my shock when I got home and saw this....

...I'm sure I must have gone around some corners.....

Went for a blast on my own down to Maidstone Honda to see what they're about and to Pete and Mick at Sittingbourne s/stn about my indicators under my bodywork asking if they are ok for its mot next year.
Honda dealer had some nice things in there and the indicators are just passable. Now going out with the family ten pin bowling.

Yup, was meant to be on also! Finally sorted a van to then find out was cancelled.... Gutted as was lovely today :(

Had to make do with the queens highway instead.... Decent ride over to p&h's... Although was like a hazard perception test on the way back! Was hard work tbh.

But nice to get out on the bike.

As part of my 'Winter Project' I stripped down my old BMX to frame only.
Polished up some bits, freed off chain and let it soaking.
