Billy no mates, my final biker buddy has sold his bike, ( what's wrong with these people) over the past few years our group numbers have dropped and people have sold up, so now it's just me and my blade!!
Alright Billy....know the feeling...... but don't worry plenty of biking buddies on here.............welcome you sad lonely bugger !!
Throw yourself in at the deep end dude. Lots of peeps around your neck of the woods. Post a few ride outs have some chilled days out with good roads etc, and you will soon find a core that will return again and again, before you know it you got a nice little group of fresh faced buddies, things can expand from there though so You may even get a European tour with some of them, and then they go up the scale from buddies to mates to friends, don't get me wrong, you won't ever please everyone you meet, but the oportunity is there, if that's your bag?
Met a few of the lincs guys and plan to hopefully sort some more ride outs next year, been a bit tricky this year with a new baby in the house!
That's the problem with the HRC you can't keep up with people and then they get bored, head up to your nearest McDonald's there's bound to be a group of mopeds up there that you may be able to just about keep up with
It was quite the opposite I think the speed of the hrc made them sell up , they had enough of lagging behind so thought what's the point of a bike so went back to their cars!
Hi nutty bot a newbie on here just a billy, I'm in Lincolnshire, plenty of good roads to ride around on your own!)))
happens, used to be a group of 15 of us would meet in the town each night then do runs at the weekend.now im lucky if I see anyone, suppose they put their women and families before their bikes....im selfish and I dont
Similar issue I have. Well sort of, I have lots of mates who ride locally ( but I would like to meet up at some point with the locals on here). But many either work differ hours to me, bikes broke as per my good riding buddy at the mo. 2 work on ships so are the other side of the work 2-4 months a year.
Hello n welcome, most of the riders i used to ride with have " retired " from biking or given up due to family the cost. Just ride solo meself and the Mrs has decided to come on the back come the nicer weather, so least sum company
My first batch of mates of which I met at a bike meet a few years ago have all give up except for one ...No problems though as I have now " through the Forum " got about 10 hardcore good mates who are usually knocking about ,Barney and Mrs B who are ALWAYS out and about some great dudes and riders from the southern shores ,A drama queen holed up in Devon, and friendships forged as high in the sky as Scotland and our dear Yorkshire Northern set ( not met young tyke yet ) He says the curry night is going to be messy " so just wondering if he has any teeth" lol and of course you lot as well .So get active get involved and you will never be short of dudes and good chaps to ride with .
Ahh I see ... yup our little group has slowly shrunk to just me All sold up till finances let them buy again
Same here just me and a lad from work and hes sold his says hes getting another we will see, thats why I joined here for the run outs.
Mate I am only 30 mins away there is a few of us that go out your more than welcome to join us. Wont be out much now but plenty of opportunity next year?
I joined the forum when i got the blade to learn more about the mods etc... not been on another forum before, thought it would be full of proper weirdos (so knew i'd fit in) our group had dwindled to 2 really as the lads i was riding with in circa 2008 were selling up / not as into it as much as me and bruce... plus i think they thought we were a little unhinged ha ha.... anyway, Bruce decided he fancied taking his gixxa round the world so i too was billy no mates, got involved more on the forum and met some great folk for ride outs, some proper close mates who i ride with reg and been introduced to a wider circle of mates. as Giv says, met folk at the NEC for a natter, had umpteen brilliant ride outs, been shown over glencoe by colin on his mrs birthday toured scotland with a great bunch of guys many i consider friends, done a big summer tour this year with pals i met through Dave V off here who is now hated by my neighbour more than myself lol, done a few track days and been made to feel welcome everywhere i've been!! for me this place has been a great little hub and got me out on the bike more than ever, always plenty going on if your prepared to get out there dude. although as first suspected, your all weirdos!! lol
I wonder if its the cost of fuel, insurance and running a bike these days thats putting alot of folk of?? Esp with utility bills goin through the roof aswell as the general cost of living, peeps r looking at cutting back n the bikes, unless ur a reg commuter is wots being got rid of to save the pennies?? I know im not doing the high miles of previous yrs due to the cost of a day out razzing round
