It seems as the the author of this has lost someone in a bike accident? If not then they are clearly just a w@nker who can't pass their test!
Clearly he doesn't realise how many people also lose lives in cars! Otherwise he would be banning them as well
They obviously dont ride a bike or they wouldnt even think about writing such rubbish, people are quite rightly allowed there own opinions ! BUT we as motorcyclists seem to get demonised by the press on a regular basis as dangerous idiots with no regard for our or other peoples saftey ? We pay out road tax and insurance like others, we pass our bike tests of which the goal posts move on a regular basis in order to make it harder for people to pass or be bothered to sit them in the first place ! And then all we ever hear from non bikers is your going to die on that, there unsafe, you must be mad etc etc because they read crap like this over and over again ! Yes unfortunately a few bikers are killed every year, but so do car drivers, van drivers, lorry drivers and pedestrians, maybe we should all be locked away in our homes for saftey ? oh just looked on the stats from DIY deaths ... maybe not !
Horse riding accident rate is pretty bad if not worse than bikes. 5 a side football accident rate at work is also pretty shocking.
Obviously a snippet from down under, can only imagine the writer is getting very stressed at thought of another Ashes drubbing and has decided to hit out out the biking community. The only other reason apart from that must be that the guy is in the medical profession, and as any of us who know doctors or nurses, we are all aware how they always bleat on about the terrible injuries they treat to motorcyclists and how its so dangerous and should be banned, I always remind them they should be grateful for getting so much free practice at body repairs from our community.

It's okay lads. This is a 'Letter to the Editor'. It may well have been printed to illicit more 'Letters to the Editor' either in agreement or in defence of the two wheeled fraternity. This geezer's dislike is aimed squarely at motorbikes, not cyclists, not pedestrians and definitely not the indigenous wildlife of Australia, which, no offence BW, seems to be designed to kill of the population all on it's own. Oh jeez if we were to have everything banned that was dangerous to us we would need to ban ourselves and wipe out the human species as a whole! We are the most dangerous things on this planet! Wonder how many industries would be affected by a ban on motorcycles, the motorcycle companies themselves of course and all the sales/support employees, parts co's, fuel co's, metal works, tyre co's, electronics co's, as well as the motorsports & entertainment industry, clothing & gear manufactures, hmmmm this is turning into a lot of lost revenue and jobs just by the banning of some motorbikes init!
