Need to attempt to strip my bike down and fit my Samco coolant hoses. Also, thinking a HM quickshifter could be next investment....
I got excited thinking about the nice red hoses on my bike, had a look at them in the box (that I've had for about a year without fitting) and now think it may be beyond my ability to fit, especially as they don't have any instructions/labels etc of which hose goes where. Hmmm, I like a challenge but this could end up with bike in pieces and me stood scratching my head.
Pays to keep your eye on the ball nutty! You know in case something new pops up that one could miss out on...lol Its been a while since I saw something that makes me "want" to jump up and kill the card! Island Rider: Sometimes I can help members out but tbh the market is so tight its hard to do people deals and make a couple of quid, for the last 20 years I have always given free advice to people IF I can and they are free to buy where they like, if I know of a deal I put people onto it too A lot of mods are down to taste so it can be as simple as if you like the look of it go for it.!
Like many mods, just take your time, lay things out and bag up parts with labels to make life easy when putting back together, the hoses are a simple job just do one at a time, bleeding the system is your main problem as you just need to be sure no air is trapped in the system, lots of online manuals and youtube guides to help you and people here. Blades are easy to bleed.. Best advice is, don't panic, don't rush and take plenty of time, take photos if you need.
I still think the hardest part of tinkering with my blade is taking the bloody fairing off. Everything else seems easy in comparison.
I have quite a list of things that I plan on doing to the bike this year. Well that was after deciding to keep it for another year. 1: K-tech Front Fork Piston Kit, Springs, and Flow Control Valves. 2: ISR Radial Front Master Cylinder, matching Clutch lever assembly, and ISR 6 piston Monoblocks. 3: Tsubaki X-Ring Gold chain, and Supersprox +2 rear sprocket. 4: King Carbon Rear Hugger.
On my list over the winter for my first blade is: Honda Touring Screen (Repsol) Hugger (C-ABS compatible?) Remove rear pegs Radiator guard
My list is to clean the bike, 5500 miles of road crap to shift. Then to fit some winter tyres. That is all really as I am awaiting the new blade due soon.
Quick question on the subject of Winter Maintenance how many cans of ACF 50 does it take to properly protect the blade over winter? Are there any areas on the 09 models that grit etc gets caught up? I found this Valet pro wax that is meant to give 3 months worth of protection for the paint work but won't be much good for the frame or wheels though so just wanted to make she's properly protected...
I bought the 5 litre container of ACF50 then I tip it in to one of these to use on the Bike, tiz a far cheaper option than the Cans etc.

Just De-catted the exhaust, fitted a speedo healer, waiting for the Ohlins rear shock to arrive... Next is stainless wavy discs front & rear and Brembo M4 calipers
Well I'm still riding so in between when I'm not Remove rear pegs (done ) now just waiting for my sato street hooks to arrive Fit goodridge hoses front and rear ( waiting for them to arrive) Fit gipro gear indicator (done) And in the new year buy some more leathers
