I need a red reflective sticker, not a plastic reflector or one of those round ones. It has to be the flexible sticker type. I got some with an R&G tail tidy once but have used it all. Anyone know where I can get some please?
I've used 3M heavy duty prismatic tape in the past and it's got something like a 5 year life. Unfortunately you'd probably need to but a whole roll, but it's relatively easy to get hold of.
how much do you need ? i work as a hgv mechanic, new trucks now have to have red reflective tape on the rear of them , pretty sure i have some in the garage , if not ,i can get an off cut from work.
if its for an mot it wont work. 3M 983 Red Reflective Tape 55mm x 1m ECE104 Compliant (metre conspicuity EC104) | eBay
why not ? it is fitted on trucks for mot now, you only need a tiny red reflector on rear of bike for mot test. that is the same as the stuff i can get so if jm1 wants some let me know ,you can have some for nowt.
its in the rules 1.5 Reflectors This inspection applies to the obligatory rear reflectors that are required by Regulation to be fitted. Rear reflectors are not required to be fitted to vehicles used only during the hours of daylight, which are fitted with neither front nor rear position lamps, etc. (See 1.1.A) Approval marks are not included in the inspection. Reflective tape is not acceptable as a substitute for a rear reflector. in good working order Note: At least 50% of the reflecting surface must be visible from the rear red in colour.
Cheers Phantom, but that's one rule I don't mind testing out. I'll take a real reflector with me and stick it on if he wants (in 2 years when MOT's due)
