    Hi all.

My 13 plate repsol is amazing in every way apart from top end!

Might sound really immature but I want to break the magic 200mph.

I have been told I won't be able to do it on my bike as it's all electrically restricted. I can get it to 186 on the clock then stops.

I got a yoshimura R77 exhaust and about to get a power commander, (where can I get one for my bike can't find one for the new bike?)

Can u get the electronic restrictions off or will I have to gear it. But don't want to to be honest.

It's going away for the winter and going get all of its extras put on over the winter just waiting to be let loose next year.

    Cheers all

Why do you need to hit 200mph ? Sounds pointless and doubt you will hit it -

If you want big power buy a BMW S1000rr,

If you want sweet handling / stonking midrange stick with a standard blade.

Don't think the blade is actually capable of hitting 200mph even with any restrictions lifted. Not many places you can do that sort of speed anyway unless it's somewhere like Bruntingthorpe. Do it on the public road and you're going straight to jail if you get caught!

Your gonna need to spec it like a TT bike to be honest or speak to BigCC racing, hope you've got about 20k in the bank to do it though

There was an article in Superbike where they tried to crack 200mph (genuine 200mph, not the bollox the clocks will indicate at that speed)

It required a ZZR1400 with race air filter, power commander and tuned to run on race gas (something silly like 130RON). Even that wasnt enough and they ended up fitting the largest front and smallest rear sprockets they could find. That enabled them to crack a true 200mph.

In short, I dont think you'll manage 200 on the blade, and if you do, the tuning work required would render it useless on the road

You may get an indicated 200 mph but really prob only 186 anyway! Your probably short of 30bhp to make a genuine 200..

Take it to Chris Mayhew and spend a shit load of cash, only ever heard of superbike spec blades hitting 200 mph never super stock.
Anyway whats the point.......unless on the TT, NW200 or Ulster GP cant think of that many places where you could do it legally.

    BigCC .......... turbo
    TTS...............supercharge
    Top Tuner ......superbike tune

Michael McGuiness' bike can do it .... and the Samsung / Lowes combo

But it's already been done if you remember guys , and I dont think there was engine work done
The fastest 1L bike at the salt flats in USA this year and ridden by a lady .
I'm sure it was posted on here .................

If you are getting 186 on your clock that's properly only really 176 as most clocks over read by around 5%
So to get another 24mph on top end is going to take serious power upgrade I would have thought, and then where can you test it out?

Unless of course its just the salt flats you want to ride on and are not bothered about acceleration ;)

and also a new bazzaz fuel system which is allowed in P-P class
but yeah its all gearing and aerodynamics....the clock stops but
as far as I know there isnt a restriction.

I'd prefer to out gun another bike up to silly speeds than go past at over 186 indicated.180bhp+ bikes cannot keep with a down geared blade.I know cos I had fun doing it:D off road of course;)

Its a bit daft that these bikes can hit 186 (in theory), but the extra 14mph is so out of reach. They must be bloody good to start with!

Its not a linear climb up per extra mph. At that speed, each mph extra takes alot more effort than the one before as the air just gets thicker and thicker.

As has been said before, its cheaper to focus on what you can do for more speed... lose weight off the bike and then tune. Things like subframes, heavy road kits and exhaust/wheels and all the little things that add to both sprung and unsprung weight will have a big difference.

    Then tune it!

Oh and at that speed, even variables like your helmet aerodynamics will come into play- nevermind if youre not 100% tucked in. Your elbow sticking out will knock a few mph off top speed nevermind your head

Has anyone ridden at 200mph? [legally on an unused track of course]

When i 1st got my blade ridding at 100mph was scary, so 200mph i would literally cack my self....but after slowly getting used to high speeds, i have ridden at 160mph...that was insane!

Edit: This was on an unused runway, every summer drag races are held for macmillan charity here, no laws were broken...ride safe ;)

Your need about 200bhp at rear wheel and correct gearing to get 200mph .

I would honestly say your money would be better spent on a proper suspension setup so you can go faster round the corners, anyone can point and squirt.

    :D
