My tips for riding out in the snow 1 dont turn 2 dont brake 3 dont accelerate 4 have fully comp 5 dont leave the fooking house! and most importantly everyone out there in the snow is a fool (including yourself!)
Ha!, I actually 'enjoy' the snow!. I kinda like the bum clenching moments, I ride slower but a hell of a lot smoother!
Love this time of the year, the summer commuter bikers are like falling leaves, slowly being swept back onto Southeastern trains, filtering lanes are less congested, car park is freeing up capacity in bike area. My next election campaign to be PM is being run solely on one mandate, that is to clear the roads of the ever growing menace of poxy 3 wheel Piaggio things, that believe they have the same rights to filtering lanes as do real motorcycles and to park in solo motorcycle bays and while I am at it, I will be restricting the movement of towed caravans on the public highway to between the hours of 0200-0300 on Tuesdays in December only.
What I practice this time of year guys when it's time is! Firstly be prepared! 18ltrs of fresh petrol & 4ltrs of new oil with filter! Then wash and polish her thoroughly! Then start her up allowing her to warm up for an oil change! Fresh oil free from contaminants! Don't start her again till the spring!!!.. it will contaminate new oil and allow acids to form! Not good! Now empty the tank! I use a syphon and empty out petrol and stick in my winter bike! Then fill the Blade to the brim (to stop condensation) with fresh petrol and add Putolene fuel stabiliser so it doesn't go off! Then a rub down with AFC50 then up on paddock stands and a breathable, waterproof cover put on! And bobs your knob job done
Dont do any of the above listed, just ride the damn thing Am off monday n at the mo the forecast is for a dry day, so even if i ger 2 - 3 hrs of riding ( on e roads have dried up nicely ) iN ill be happy as it keeps everything running nIcely, ill take pics as no pics no proof ( i keep being told )

Dave I hope that on her reappearance in spring she will have lost a few pounds by shedding the exhaust and also suiting a neat lil tail tidy rather than that OEM snow plough?
WTF's all this laying them up for winter? They're bikes to be ridden and have fun on for chrissakes - not bloody antiques to be cottonwooled so their value increases! Life's for living not preserving! I just don't get it. Hose 'em down and ride 'em the next day. What's the problem?
I dont really like the cold weather and riding my bike, much prefer the heated seats of my car....plus for me in colder weather with bad road conditions the risk of coming off is more, i bike for fun and to me cold weather riding isnt fun...unless of course your doing this:
