I'm a big froch fan, think he's a class act and a no nonsense, doesn't hide from anyone, take any fight and have it fighter.... Would have said no probs v groves.

Just watched the ringside special build up, and think he has really got under his skin.

Young lad seems very confident, playing great mind games and Carl ain't getting no younger?

Could be an upset? I don't think so, think Carl will be too strong, but something about the way groves carried himself makes me think it might be closer than initially thought.

Looking forward to it now! Nothing like a good old domestic battle ;)

Yep im a huge boxing fan. Carl will walk it if he doesnt get caught cold early on. I think froch needs a couple of mega fights just like what joe calzaghe did in the twighlight of his career to give him the credit he deserves

Used to be a big part of my life, but silly money, differing titles for same weights, uk, gb, eu and world champ etc have spoiled it for me. WBA, WBC, WBO and not to mention Don King and his comedian ways and pure greed and exploitation.

last fight I paid for and went to see live was the rematch of Benn and Eubank in Manchester. If there's a "decent" match on telly, I'll watch it, but prefer amateurs and semi pro these days, they are more hungry and it's more entertaining to watch, without the ridiculous amounts of money.

Give me sugar ray and Alan minter, early Holyfield etc to watch any day.

You are joking? Kessler x 2, bute destruction, all the super 6 fights in 2 years, had it with the best of them! Calzaghe was awesome but only ever beat jeff lacy as a top fighter! All the names he beat were on the way out. Eubank was finished, Hopkins 43 I think?

Joe always avoided Carl. As good as he was, was very selective of fights.

Don't think Carl has anything to prove tbh

Bit before my time si - but isnt as good as it used to be.

Now days everyone trying to build a "legacy" with too many belts allowing big names to avoid each other.

Benn was my fav growing up. Not the best fighter but what a legend. Those were the folders days, Eubanks, Watson, and later Collins was mega!!

And the Gerard mcclennan was I think one of the best fights I've ever seen!

A bit before my time??? Christ, how to make a dude feel old...LOL.

Jimbo, try and have a look at some of Roy Jones jr fights... Awesome and won titles at different weights. Fantastic to watch, and his skills and power where unbelievable.

No jimbo I mean a super fight he actually wins, carl lost to kessler and ward and only managed to beat kessler recently as his career is coming to an end soon. I dont think beating jermaine taylor can be classed as a super fight as he turned out to be another over hyped yank.

Calzaghe beat kessler 6 years ago when he was in his prime, something carl couldnt manage. Whilst hopkins was 43 he had a clear weight advantage over joe and even now at nearly 50 he isnt doing too bad. But when he faced roy jones jr at the same weight jones was done by that stage

My dad and grandad always got me into boxing when i was younger. My grandad has some of the old mega fights on tape still- ali, foreman, liston etc. If you guys like boxing check out allthebestfights.com

It has all the great marches from the past in their entirety and from 2000 onwards loads of fights in HD. All the "fights if the year" ward vs gatti etc.

as for froch vs groves i really dont know, i watched it 3am this morning when i couldnt sleep due to this fekin illness so i was a bit spaced out but it seems that groves is just a yappy kid trying to get inside frochs head cos hes desperate for any advantage. Froch although making jokes seemed to be the maturer fighter towards the end of the interview. As he said confidence comes better in the form of successful fights with decent names rather than just being cocky like groves. Either way it will be one to watch, i reckon froch will get a late stoppage.

As for amir khan wanting a shot at mayweather- what bloody planet is he on!? I was a big fan once when he was a prodigy, but then he got ko'd by prescott and has had a shit chin coupled with a showboating style ever since, he would get destroyed by mayweather. I would love to see kell brook vs khan, they sparred together in the past but i think brool has the hunger and can go to war, khan cant.

The undercard on the 23rd looks good too. Is it on box office or sky sports anyone?

Used to box myself but suffered too many cuts on my left eye.Used to train at St Marys Chatham with Johnny Armour. He was very good in his day.Great sport keeping fit and has helped learn to control the bad temper I had as a kid.
Today I watch UFC now because there are so many fighting styles to watch.Boxing is still king in the ring in any fighting cos you have to protect the head or its game over.
Bartley Gorman was my idol as a kid awesome bare knuckle fighter. My dad used to go watch him when on leave. He is related to friends of my dad who he grew up with.
As for todays boxing I like Joe Calzaghes style. Them Russian Klitschko boys are huge imagine Tyson trying to fight one of those. He'd never reach em. Lennox Lewis wants 100million to fight one of them for a comeback fight. Now that would be worth watching.

Kessler looked very good in that defeat mate. Yes ward beat him but he is one of the best fighters in the world RIGHT NOW. I honestly don't think you can say joe beat too many fighters at their peak. Kessler and lacy aside.

Nothing away from joe, I just don't think Carl has anything to prove or do to get the respect he deserves. Think he's already got it....

Have they rescheduled that Haye vs Fury fight yet? I watched the build up and not sure how I feel about Fury yet but he is certainly confident to say the least. Haye could be good if he keeps throwing punches rather than whatever that freezing up he does is....

As long as Haye keeps swinging I think he can do it! Fury seems one minute over confident then the next slightly unsure. Weird character.....

Love it when a show boater gets the wind knocked out of them :D
