My mate explained that the problem is that the bikes are having to share space with cars. Cars that are having their heads kicked in. Cars that are having their heads kicked in occasionally drop fluids.
It's a public road, track rules don't apply mate. If your insurance doesn't cover you for smashing crash barriers, helicopters, other property damage etc and lost revenue for closing a public road your paying. There are clear speed limit signs all around the ring. Lol, that's part of the fun! Well, that's my understanding anyway
Hang on there are speed limit signs....not working this out Dave I thought it was a track all be it a long 1? So if its a public road whats the entrance fee for? SORRY TO SOUND DUMB IVE JUST NEVER BEEN!
Toll road Dave. Basically you pay to go through the barrier. Loads of sh't on tinternet about it, including aledgedly the 1000's of pounds worth of repair cost incurred with crashing blah blah blah boring yawn Well, if we acted all the shit we read, may as well take up tiddlywinks :Edit: To add, paying for repairs to damage caused to highway furniture isn't a new thing. Usually it's an insurance covered thing that most peeps don't see. My mate got a bill for 10 grand a few tears back for a blow out he had on the M6 over Shap. All depends hoe the insurance companies see the Nurburgring, is it a road or is it a track. There's only one way to find out..........
Would be one hell of a ride tho! It's totally wrong but having a race with a few Porsches and ferraris is quite exciting but I realise also extremely dangerous. But that's what racing is all about right I'd do it.... With a pillion.... Faster than Jimbo.... Hehe
Not dumb at all mate, I still don't fully get it. Like Gaz said, it's a toll road. It's mad seeing speed limit signs. Freaked me out tbh, well that and some crazy German dude in a car locking up behind me as I tipped into a left hander! What an experience, the place is something else. Just don't go at the weekend, world of difference between the Sunday and Monday we did.
Yeah mate, right on the start straight as you go through the barrier- Lol, they looked like speed signs to me!
Ive never seen you out on track jimbo so you could be really quick. But atleast ive got the sand to give them a grand finale! Haha
I believe there are two speed restricted sections plus noise restrictions and overtaking protocols. Most insurance policies specifically do not cover for use on the ring.
Imo just gone way too daft esp the challenges, lets race a super car whilst clarksons cronies ( hammond n may ) catch the train, big deal. Alot of the cars, if not 99% r out of most peoples pockets n when theyu do a piece on a normal every day car they just take the piss out if it!! Of course a vw Golf TDI isnt gonna compare to a lambo. Ferrari.. Aston martin n never will. N i do resent my tv licence being spent on 3 over paid millionaires telling me how good a 250k car is, bring back top gear of old or just scrap it!! Even given up on formula 1 this yr as its sooooo boring n predictable to n i kniw i wont b goung back to it or top gear!!
Ha- yeah that 10 minute lecture from them made my day "we can here your bike bellowing all round zee ring, you must comply............."
