This week finds me in Dubai. Last week would you believe was Dubai bike week! Not sure if I missed anything or not. My mate who lives here says it was full of old blokes on Harley's! As an old bloke, I declined to comment. Evidence suggests though as there are a lot of HD's around, although last night I saw 3 matching Huyabusa's posing down a main drag. Any Forum members out here?
Loved it when I went! Great place to chill out. The service was like nothing I've ever experienced. Have a good time mate
As others say, the lack of litter, grafitti and general feeling of safety by not have any drunks around makes for a very different atmosphere on a sat night than a UK town - plus the weather helps. When I stopped there on way to Jakarta it poured with rain and my plane left late! There is a good dirt bike school if you have a spare day - all kit etc. provided and off you go on trails towards the desert
Makes a good argument for banning the drink eh!??? Feeling safe whilst out with family in a fri n sat night i haven't felt in donkeys years!!!!
Well thats wot happens when u go round killing your partner ( allegedly ) or wud u have him released without all charge and back to the free world of the uk just cus " he used to race bikes n so must be a good egg " Wot utter nonsense, you commit a crime in a country like that YOU will get punished and properly not sit in ur cell watching tele all day long with the prison officers calling you " sir "
I don't know the ins and out.... But can't help think there ain't smoke without fire. I found the place mint !!!!
I was offered a job there last year and took the family out for a week. We were wined and dined and chauffeured about but I knew almost immediately it wasn't for me. Great for a break but not to live and work. There are massive inequalities there based on your nationality although being British you're second on the list behind the Emerarties so not all bad.
So,didnt manage to get on a bike and do the desert thing in Dubai. I did end up helping set the course for an enduro and car race across the dunes. Great fun on 4 wheels. Last week found me in Las Vegas where I hired a Harlley 883 sportster. At the risk of offending someone I have to say it was quite possibly the worst bike i have ever ridden. Build quality shocking, handing shocking, vibration shocking. When I handed it back the guy asked what I thought about the bike, I wanted to tell him to pop to his local Honda dealer and ride a motorcycle. Then come and tell me how good Harleys are. I didnt though as he was a Yank and had a bandanna on his head....
