It was PB, the best time on Pirelli rosso corsas was 1:17.89 worse time was 1:21.50 on Maxis s/sports. Whats also not good is two riders on the test one 10st and one 13st. Definately not a great test IMO.Suspension different with two riders. I'm going to try them PR3's next tyre time,if I can find a track/winter bike to play on.
I had them on the CB for 4500 miles and couldn't fault them, loved them in the wet and dry and they still looked new when they took the bike last week I will defo be getting another set for the blade as soon as the S20's have worn out
I use BT023's and love them but the PR3's seem a good tyre as well. I might give them a look next time, But I've heard nothing but good things about the T30's
I was thinkin on gettin me a pair of PR3's in the spring but Dunlop have launch the Sportsmart2 they say there far better than the originals they are gripper ,turn quicker and are more comfortable and offer more mileage! so the must be one hell of a hoop! I love my Sportsmarts and the new one are cheaper so it's a no brainer then! I've just got to give the new Sportsmart2 a bash
Put a set of 2ct 3s on this year, and I've done two days at Spa, a wet evening at Brands and been to Croatia on them, plus the normal weekend stuff They're better than the Rosso Corsas that I thought were the bollox, and in the wet the grip is exellent
Have to say up until this coming weekend my Blade is running 2CT's and I have to say I am somewhat disappointed in the Wet performance I seem to remember them being pretty good in the wet in the summer on my Daytona however that being said that was 2 years ago and it is probably a dated technology now in terms of Tyre performance. For example last night when pulling on to the M25 from the A13 I had the bike lent over to the left as I was rounding the bend on the slip road and as I was winding on the throttle I could feel the back end shaking as she was fighting to find grip I wasn't being overly agressive with the throttle either. But having had PR3's on my old R6 I know how f'in epic they are so have decided that come Saturday a set of those will be going on over winter then at least I can get back to trying to ride like Michael Rutter in the wet lol.
Getting a set fitted in the morning. My current S20R tyres are shot to bits, so can report back when I have them fitted for a back to back comparison.
How about from cold? Has anyone found a really good price for PR3's delivered i.e. i'll fit them myself.
Perfect from cold, I go into a down hill off camber near 45 degree corner, 500 yds after start up every morning, its the first time the tyre sits on its edge, lately its damp or wet, and its tip in and grip at 40mph ish no issues, don't even suggest they will let go, you would have to be really aggressive and/or ham fisted to upset these puppies
had these fitted last week and loving them! can pretty much ride in the damp the same as the dry, they also feel very planted love em!
Has anyone tried the beads that you can put inside the tyre so as to balance them? It saves putting the weights on your wheels!!
