I use 100w H7 bulbs with a blue coating that makes them look like HiD bulbs, got them off amazon for about £7 for the pair

There was a thread on here not so long ago about cheap HID kits [£20]...might be worth installing?

Be careful lads with higher wattage bulbs. The higher they are the hotter they get.The internals on most headlights are plastic and when melting can fog the inside of the headlamp plus deform the pattern.
This is why bulb manufacturers are making brighter bulbs but keeping with the same wattage.

Had these on my old blade and they are really impressive for standard bulbs.

I used the Osram night breakers on my car before upgrading to HID retrofit system bout 5-6 years ago. The osrams made a massive difference over stock units and the HID units added that lil bit more when I fitted those but I wouldn't and couldn't be bothered to go throught the hassle of trying to cram all the extra wiring n gubbins up under or around the nose unit of my bike!

Even with the reduced size of the regulators it's still a lot to hide on an already cramped bike, the HID's also don't like to be switched on n off in short periods of time and as most bikes shut off power to the lights momenteraly during crank over this was leading to the regulators n bulbs failing prematurely.

Some people created all sorts of things to get round this issue from time delay relay's to seperate switches to turn the lights on after the engines running but this again just adds more complexity and adds more bulk to the bike!

Best advise I would give is go for a brand named 50% brighter bulb unit if you are looking for better lighting.

I noticed Eurocar Parts have the Osram night breaker golds on special just now for £15 a pair!
