Hello - Just got a 2005 Repsol Blade that needs some bodywork

Hi Folks,

Well after a potentially excellent auction find, it looks like I'm going to be making the slight *cough* jump from my RVF400 to a 2005 Repsol Fireblade. I've had the RVF for a few years and having done quite a few trackdays at Snetterton on it had the hankering for something with more grunt - I'm fed up with overtaking people into the bends only to have them come flying past down the straights - plus carbs really aren't my thing.

So I have managed to pick up this Cat D insurance write off that seems to have been allowed to slide down the road on it's left hand side (why would you do that?!!). Currently it appears that it needs a new left wing mirror, upper left fairing and possibly a lower fairing. Though it may be that a bit of touch up paint may be sufficient to sort the lower fairing and the tail. Then hopefully (fingers crossed) it should be good to go, and I'll have a bike that I've always longed for.

Does anyone recognise the bike? Or have any spare left side fairings for a 2005 Repsol (I'll also put a post in the parts section asking)?

Welcome bud I had a bid on this to break looks nice just check frame well they will crack deform on the spars when they touch down

 

And before anyone says cat D can't have frame damage lol

Welcome along dan, you can buy a complete set of repsol fairings from Chinese websites, believe a few people on here have fitted them and on the whole they seem to be worth the money, believe its a couple of hundred quid for an entire bike. Check here;

Hi Pete, thanks for those links, seem considerably cheaper than the eBay listings.

I'm currently negotiating a price with a Chinese based eBay seller for just the two panels that I need the most. I will see how well they fit I will see if it's worth going the whole hog and getting an entire bikes worth. Apparently the colour match isn't great on them, but it will do as a stop gap solution till I can either get hold of (read as afford) genuine Honda ones, or go for a Chinese copy.
